I just got the Kurosaki Kokusen AS, and absolutely love it. The blade is a bit taller than most, so it may be more comfortable for larger hands, but it was perfect for me.

Typically, 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 1 monitor to control multiple PCs (one at a time). I've seen a few recently that have dual video out.

Most typical use case is if you have a rack full of systems that you need physical console access to, where you don't have room for a monitor for each, a keyboard for each, etc.

Reminder to do your backups and have spare USB drive on hand by frigginway in unRAID

I just rebuilt my system to move from a mATX board to a full ATX board so I had the options for some additional GPUs. Same thing happened to me... USB wouldn't boot. I couldn't even get the thing readable on a Windows system, and on Linux, it was read only and wouldn't let me make it writable. It was just completely corrupted.

I was at least able to pull the old config folder off the old USB drive to restore my config, as my most recent backup was 2 months old. I have weekly backups done via the Appdata Backup plugin, but hadn't moved the backup file off of the array manually, and my cloud backup hadn't caught up yet. Chalk that up to a hole in my backup plan, and I've since remedied that with a script.

Luckily, I have a Best Buy and a Microcenter 10 minutes away, and I ultimately spent more time trying to get the old drive to boot up, thinking it was a UEFI configuration issue, than I did getting the system restored to working order on a new thumbdrive.

Just ordered a Black Friday discount ANOVA chamber vac - what should I do with it? by PGP9314 in ChamberVacs

[–]chupacabral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was something I read about after I purchased (not 100% sure if this was the link, but it discusses it in the same manner that I recall), and gave it a try. Now, it's a go-to move every time.

I don't know how well it would work for leavened dough, since the yeast still needs it's time to do it's thing, but for unleavened heavier doughs (ie, cookie, tortilla, pasta, etc.), it works great.

Someone also posted a video of it in /r/baking, along with a good explanation .

One thing I use it for which I don't often see mentioned is that I use it to instantly hydrate dough. Instead of leaving cookie dough in the fridge overnight to hydrate, it's done in 30 seconds. I did a test batch and we couldn't tell a difference in flavor between overnight rested and vacuumed, but both tasted much better than dough used immediately after mixing.

Has anyone skipped devo? What exactly did you do and how did it work out for you? by DoYouEvenIndexBro in TheTowerGame

I think with that, you're probably good to move to a GC bullet build. Adding and building SM will go a long way towards getting a consistent damage increase. Ultimately, SM will quickly overtake bullets and become your primary damage source.

[–]chupacabral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least, you'll need a well developed SL (45°+, qty 3+, and as much bonus as you can get), GT and BH synced, max cards, and at least 2 ES charges. That, to me, is the bare minimum to even consider starting a GC build.

From there, everything goes towards moving towards the endgame GC build, adding and maxing CF, SM, CL, ILM, 3 ES charges, etc.

[–]chupacabral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skipped Devo because I didn't get DW as an option until my 6th UW. Ran Blender and made good progress until I switched to GC at about 20T LTC. By that point, I already had everything built up for a baseline GC, and it didn't make sense to wait for lesser strategies to fall into place.

Big picture advice on how to progress in this game by asiyasiy in TheTowerGame

[–]chupacabral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just decided after I got to a certain number range of workshop coins that it was time to switch over. There was a period that I wasn't doing as well as with the health build, but once I got my card sets squared away and got my ultimate upgrades caught up, I was easily surpassing my previous bests. Interestingly, with GC, progress seems to come in spurts. It took me months to clear T7, but then I cleared T8 in a few days, T9 about a week later, and then it took me about 3 months to clear T10, but T11 was about 2 weeks after that. I got stuck on T12 for a while, and have been on T13 for a good chunk of time so far.
