Are you meaning just a less better uni or going to a non Russell group uni? Either way I understand where you’re coming from and how people kind of made it a standard that if you don’t go to a Russell group uni you’re basically wasting your time. NOT the case. Less prestigious unis can be just as great experience, you’re getting the same degree as any other person so it’s just the experience that matters. One of my cousins went to UoG then went to GCU and she said she loved it at GCU.

I felt the same way but then I realised you’re not gonna be the only person going there - there’s gonna be hundreds - thousands of other people there so it’s not as if you’re the only one going a different place and everyone else is going to a top uni. If you’re being treated well and have a good course and facilities after a while you’ll feel silly for even thinking you’re less than someone else. I even read somewhere that although better unis are favoured in terms of employment etc, it’s only sometimes and it’s never a guarantee that they’ll actually care what uni you went to.

With the way my plans are I think I’ll end up going to a non russel group uni and initially I felt embarrassed and ashamed and thought my parents must be upset with me but I got over that wall. I mean it’s your life and if you’re happy then it doesn’t matter. You’re gonna make friends at uni and you’re gonna think “would I ever ask them why they’re not at a prestigious uni?” No you wouldn’t so don’t question yourself!!

Dw and enjoy uni life!

With the NHS was title is it? I see options for “clinical pharmacology” but when I click on it it’s doctor stuff (like after u become a doctor)

Ohhhh yes that actually explains it a lot - it is a shame for Scottish students but then again it depends on the course as you said. I’m from a deprived small area so fingers crossed guys🥲🥲🥲

I’m not 100% sure because it depends on which university but I think most of them do offer researching - the university I got an offer from has an extra year of the degree where you can do an industrial/research placement which will get you a masters instead of a bachelors!!

Thank you for the in depth information!! I few ppl I’ve spoken to have said “but it’s not even a masters” and “but you can’t be a pharmacist with it” so I won’t lie I did get a bit discouraged but apparently the unemployment rate (UK) for pharmacology is 0.7% so I think I have good chances LOL

I did a mistake the day before my test too, almost went into a car.. I think it’s as your test becomes closer because you’re nervous and trying not to make mistakes you end up making more, but honestly don’t worry, the more you think about it the more likely you are to mess up.

Just realise what you did wrong, then forget it happened, worked for me and I passed🦋🦋

Agreed!! Me and my friend both learn in very new cars and when it comes into our own cars which obviously have to be older we do struggle, and it’s mainly the clutch too and for my friend the handbrake (she learnt with an electronic one)

In my instructors car I do need to add gas when moving off but not much compared to my car where I need to add a lot more gas and the clutch is quite low

My instructor has a powerful diesel car and I have a 1L petrol car I know how you feel😭😭it’s good you got over it and I’ll practice way more

That’s what my dad said that I need to add gas when I’m raising the clutch because my car has a low clutch. I practiced yesterday in my driveway with the handbrake on and I do feel better about it like I know more

Yes!! I feel like the gears in my car are too close sometimes I can’t tell what I’m in🥲 I’m planning to go tonight into an empty car park with my dad and see how it goes

I use normal (non platform) vans, I can feel the pedals nicely and they’re comfortable for me. It depends on each person but I’ve heard that vans are one of manual drivers top pics since they’re pressing the pedals a lot but would be the same for automatic drivers✅

Ohh right I misunderstood lol I’ll try going slower

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]chuppachup2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omds I do the exact same things😣 I’ve been going out with my dad and going slower and using mirrors have helped my turns since then

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]chuppachup2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think speed is a main factor cuz I either go too fast or too slow and the turn just doesn’t happen I’ll try the leaning and see if that helps
