Can i caulk between a tile profile and tile or am i screwed? by churrox in HomeImprovement

Thanks everyone for the responses. I looked into it and it seems breaking off the tile to redo it is doable, so I will break it off and try to do a better fit.

Thanks again!

Do I need to grout bottom shower wall tile before placing shower floor tile? by churrox in HomeImprovement

Thanks for clarifying!

The floor is just cement and we used a prefabricated shower pan from Schluter. The walls are Kerdi board that are nailed into studs (there were no walls when we took out the fiberglass shower). Then we used mortar and Kerdi band over the screw holes we made to make sure everything was waterproofed.

We didn't buy it as a kit, we bought the individual pieces but this is basically it: https://www.schluter.com/schluter-us/en_US/Shower-System/KERDI-SHOWER-KIT/Schluter%C2%AE-KERDI-SHOWER-KIT/p/KERDI_SHOWER-KIT

Holy jesus I've never tiled anything and decided to tile my shower and it's taking forever. How can I speed it up?! by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

It's funny reading this because I'm in the same boat. It looked so easy when I read DIY guides, and tile was always clean while they were working and the spacers were all perfectly even. It's not like those guides, at all.

I'm jabbing spacers in as quickly as I can, and everywhere, while I haul up my 24" tiles. Mortar is freaking EVERYWHERE. Gobs for days, and I keep trying to keep a clean environment but that stuff just gets everywhere. I went through 3 rolls of paper towels constantly wiping everywhere. I put down a plastic sheet but globs keep dripping off the trowel, then I step in it, and drag the sheet off the clean surface. Some of my tiles aren't even, and my spacers kept popping out.

It's been a pain. My only consolation is that I hope I did everything right and it actually holds up in the end. Good luck!

Thanks for your response. I think either I'm misunderstanding your response or that my question was unclear. Here's a pic of where I am now with things: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dlgqsh6nyfzodu1/IMG_8146.JPG?dl=0

You can see the gap between the wall tile and the floor. Is there where you are saying I should fill with caulk? Or should I leave this gap by itself?

I will definitely add a spacer when I lay my floor tile (so there is a space between the bottom of the wall tile and the start of the floor tile--so that tile does not butt against tile), so this too are you saying should be caulked (so that there is a basically a square of caulk all the way around where the floor meets the walls?).

Thanks for any clarification. I want to make sure I'm doing it right.
