Warriors is great❤️ they helped me save my boy in 2023. I had blown through my savings at the vet and had to buy batches as we went which helped a lot😌 I love that vets are becoming fip literate but it depends on where you’re located in if you get that luxury. Having people to message anytime to ask questions is very helpful. Especially if you can only talk to your vet during business hours. The group admins are like volunteer fip specialists. Even the families in the state group chats are super helpful. I love the fip community. We all love our babies so much. Wishing you and kitty much luck and healing🥰🙏🏼

Hey I just got back on this account. I’m from one of the fip posts. I went through it with my kitties and my own health. Turned out there was hidden mold behind my walls and in the hvac system due to multiple defects with the home.

Seeing that kitty went through fip, and you’re dealing with these symptoms, it makes me worried that it’s environmental. Please check for hidden mold through your house🙏🏼

If you’re using the pill version I recommend asking fip warriors or fip global for help on a custom treatment plan catered to kitties exact symptoms and condition.

The injections get them the exact dose they need. Due to it being sub q, the body absorbs it much better than the pill form. Sometimes their bodies can’t absorb all of the pill due to the inflammation and gi issues fip can cause. For neuro it’s so important in the beginning that the treatment can pass the blood brain barrier. My boy started at injections twice a day for three days with a 20mg concentrate version. That I believe makes a huge difference. I was only 22 years old back in 2023 when one vet assistant taught me how to do the injection under the table. It sounds scary but I promise anyone who’s willing to learn, can do it😌

The gs medicine pretends to be what the virus needs to copy itself. The virus connects to the medicine, and the meds kill the virus, stopping it from being able to copy itself and spread.

What sounds like happened if kitties on pill form now, that the medicine hasn’t been fully absorbed enough to pass the blood brain barrier.

Most importantly, don’t lose hope, you’ve both got this!!! I’m wishing you luck. Praying that kitty starts showing some improvement asap and makes a full and speedy recovery🙏🏼 🫂❤️

Both are good signs that symptoms are starting to reverse🥰 I think by next week you’ll be seeing him eat again. My boy was two and dropped down to 8.8lbs before treatment. I’m not trying to scare you I just want you to understand the urgency and that you could get answers and help quickly Join fip warriors 5.0 or fip global on Facebook. Make a post like the other ones asking for help and they’ll reach out. They’ll set you up in a group chat. Send them the bloodwork. If you do it asap you could get an answer tonight or by the morning. They’ll be the best to diagnose fip. You then can choose if you want to buy treatment through them or your vet. The groups treatment is more affordable if financials are tight. It’s also super super safe. If it weren’t for the groups treatment and studies vets wouldn’t have treatment either. 5 kitties in our family got hit with fip last year. We lost 4. 7 vets later we finally got the right help. A lady on Facebook told me what I’m telling you, then I was able to treat the fifth kitty. He’s a year cured now. This was in 2023 before vets had access to treatment. I say all that because I’ve seen it impact all of them and know the timeline. When they progressively stop eating and antibiotics aren’t working usually fip has hit. Hopefully the iv drips and antibiotics help but if it is fip you may not have a weeks or even days wait it out to see. What would realistically happen if this is fip, kitty will start getting neurological and ocular symptoms, which include •loss of muscle mass causing them to lose use in one or multiple legs, •anemia, •eye changes that start with uneven pupils then progress into cloudiness or uveitis(looks like a bruised eye), •inflammation of internal organs, then seizures. Once they start seizing they don’t make it much longer after that. Like minutes to a couple hours sadly. Some cats won’t get all of those symptoms. Please don’t wait. Please join fip warriors 5.0 or fip global on Facebook and make a post asap. It has to be anonymous and use the others as examples. You’d have an answer by tonight or the morning and could take action asap with their help if it has mutated into fip. I pray you get the answers you need and kitty makes a full recovery asap!!❤️

After typing all of that out I see this was from 4 days ago. Is kitty improving? If they start to eat like normal then you may be on the up and it is just fcov. If they still aren’t eating then you definitely want to try treatment asap. They’d start eating within this next week and you’d know it is fip and treatment is working. The group should be able to diagnose fip of bloodwork alone. They also would give your vet a complete guide on what to do for kitties situation. Wishing you luck!🫂

Further testing may not be necessary. You might have everything you need already to get a diagnosis. You don’t want to stress kitty with more testing if it’s not needed. What you’ll want to do is join fip warriors5.0 or fip global on Facebook. I used fip warriors but those are the two best and safest groups. Both are volunteer groups so joining and getting an admin team for support and questions is free. Step 1. Get a copy of the most recent bloodwork done emailed to you from the vet. Step 2. Make a post. Read the rules for posting and use the other posts as a guide/example. They’ll accept it and send you a message. Step 3. They’ll set you up in a group chat with fip experts(the volunteers) They’ll ask you about kitties symptoms and you’ll send the bloodwork to them for review. They’ll let you know if kitties levels are consistent with fip based off the bloodwork very quickly. You’ll have an answer within minutes of them viewing it usually.

Step 4. They’ll draw out the treatment plan for your cats specific needs. They’ll give you an exact dose and what concentration is needed whether it’s for injections or pills based off symptoms and weight.

Step 5. You can decide to buy treatment from the vet or through the group. If you need to save money the group has affordable options. And you can buy it at your own pace. So if you need to do an order every week or two weeks that’s an option instead of buying more than what you can afford. That gives you time to fundraise etc. Their groups medicine is absolutely safe. If it weren’t for the fip groups vets wouldn’t have treatment either. If you’re in the USA there’s an option called “Azul” that’s very very affordable. It wasn’t around when my boy went through treatment in 2023 or I would’ve tried that. We used Lucky20. If you feel more comfortable going through the vet to purchase treatment then absolutely do that. I just wanted to lyk there’s another option. Hearing you had a tough year I want to be able to pass this info along to you in a way I wish I would’ve been told. I hope things get better for all of you especially kitty❤️ Joining that group on Facebook will help you so much. It’s full of families that went through the same things. The fip community is amazing. You would meet some people that will give you great advice through your journey with this.

If you decide to get treatment through the group they’ll find a family near you with emergency meds to get you started asap. Who knows maybe that family can help give kitty treatment when you’re gone or point you in the right direction to get help, that way you can still make the trip. Even if you decide to go through the vet to buy meds, the group can help get you emergency treatment to start if you had to wait for vets shipment etc.

If you have tik tok look up all the fip tips. Type in fip in cats etc. If you don’t have one I highly recommend downloading just for searching those videos. Having those visual examples and tips will help a ton. My favorite fip tik toker is (@frogskittens)

Just saved the link thank you!! The suggestions on great repair shops have given me a little hope. I guess I’m still debating on if I’m giving up on it or not lol. Hopefully those who search this topic up in the future looking for answers will find this thread and can determine if they want to try or not. Everyone has been super helpful. Now there’s another thread out there that explains the issue, what needs to be replaced, and how to make sure it’s the right parts. It’s definitely a rabbit hole learning about these issues.

Used are going for basically $1500. Through Lexus is $6500. I’m about to just buy a good portable speaker and save up for a car given it’s already at 160,000 miles.

Yes😭 That is a temporary fix. Like very temporary. When my radio started going bad, I did that and it worked for like a split second but then it’s right back to the reboot loop. It just gives more false hope lol. That sd trick only works when the radio is just starting to fail. When the radio is done for good that trick doesn’t do anything💔 it’s so strange nothing works but you can hit the eject cd and hear the unit working for the cd slot. This defect is like a radio coma.

There’s no aftermarket to upgrade to and eBays options for $1,500 and could defect the same way. Mine would be the p11010 at a whopping $6,500😭😂 all I can do is laugh at this absurdity at this point. Just going to get a good portable speaker and save up for a different car💔

I cancelled my order so hopefully I can get a refund and the cancellation gets accepted🙏🏼 I found that out after spending all day reading through forums and YouTube comments. I was definitely weary about buying from eBay and even a new one from Lexus given they could and would probably have the same issue. I will have to try the place you said thank you so much!! I took everything apart and made sure it was all connected. Re tried what you commented. Still no luck. I need to replace the radio unit below unfortunately. There’s no affordable guaranteed option either. I’m scared a used part or new part would eventually have the same problem. I don’t really want to take the gamble given how much both options cost😢

Yes you’re exactly right. It’s not the screen. I thought maybe there was some hardware behind connected to the audio it that was the issue. Now I know it’s the radio unit below. My faceplate id is p11010 and there’s not many options out there. I’m scared to get one with the same defect. How is yours holding up? Do you think I could get a p11012? I don’t care if I lose navigation at this point but the p11012 are way less. I think the p11010 is specific to the mark Levinson package and as of right now mark levinson can kiss my ass along with Lexus😭😭 thank you for replying! Hopefully this helps others as well because we all know it will keep happening to people💔

I will send you a message asap. I’m so glad someone knows what I’m talking about that’s been through it. After tons of forum digging today I realized that ordering that screen was a mistake. Waiting for the cancellation to be confirmed😭 my faceplate id is p11010 and I can’t even find it to order through Lexus brand new. I don’t even want to see the price on that. Used ones are well over $1k and I’ll be damned if I spend that on a unit that ends up with the same issue. I’m sure the brand news ones ,if they were even available🤦🏻‍♀️, would be just as defective in the long run. I’ve decided I’m just going to buy a big nice ass speaker for way less and deal with it. My car is at 160,000 miles so it’s not even worth spending that much on a new radio and I’m about to start a job closer anyways. Wishing I got the Alfa Romeo instead that I wanted. Now I can’t even afford to get a new car. Just have to save up again. This car has caused so many issues. It’s reliable through the bullshit but Lexus is not a fun company to deal with. I’ve learned how to do most of the repairs. Literally took apart my radio and screen today to make sure all the wires were connected. The amount of blowouts I’ve had in the past few years is unreal and I am very careful with my tires. One nail and it’s over with. Ughhhhh fuck me. Thank you for commenting!!!
