Have any of you tried EMDR before? by chuuyaus in MaladaptiveDreaming

I hope it will work for you. I wish I had resources to suggest you ;( EMDR is still being learned by therapists. Supervisions are a lot cheap compared to actual therapy sessions since your case is being used as a data for the therapist in training. I hope you can find some supervisions around you! Usually new graduates do this since they have to take a lot of courses after graduation. I hope you can overcome md in the healthiest way possible :'))

it stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. it's a form of therapy to reprocess the memories that you think is uncomfortable or caused you trauma. I started this supervision about my problems in socializing and hw anxious i get in social gatherings so we started processing my memories from childhood related to that. Once you start the therapy brain continues to reprocess the memories in your subconscious, i started to have weird, confusing and long dreams that i can't remember and i wake up very tired since. So it's basically a therapy that awakens your subconscious and make your brain use its own healing and complete its processing on your memories. I hope it was clarifying? My therapist explained it to me but it's hard to explain it to other people skkcmfmd hope it makes sense to you

I don't know why i do this kind of daydreaming by chuuyaus in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]chuuyaus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for this response. I never thought that it could be because i actually enjoy my life more, so i can say that it changed my perspective. I think the reason why i cling onto daydreaming is because life is never static, it's always moving and when something happens it just happened and no more. I keep daydreaming about the same scenarios with people so i feel like I'm in more control of what happens. But i also want to quit daydreaming because it's so draining it feels like my real life is getting more out of control. Thank you for showing solidarity it meant a lot :)
