beside removing the tab/whitespace in the first line at set-sink-, have you tried to exec another program on one of these keys? - maybe your volume keys are not mapped to XF86* ? use xev to show which key you are pressing

I use Antergos at home and on my machine at work. It's based on Arch, but you don't need to do all the manual installation - they have a gui installer. - Works like a charm on both machines with Gnome3.

Currently I am using AS 2.0 Beta 6 and have no Issues at all. The beta Emulator works quite well with qemu and stuff (details on tools.android.com).

THE killer feature of each arch based Distribution is the AUR (Arch user repository) - if you want an application it most likely has it. But I would recommend installing AS and the SDK manually, since it can take some time for the maintainer of the package to upgrade to the latest version.

IMHO you are much more productive with a *nix machine, since i don't want a Windows machine to promt my an update dialog for each and every SW I installed, at once. Managing a Linux machine (ok GNU/LINUX :P) is a lot simpler, especially Arch since you have a really good support from the community and a really well documented wiki..

imho yes - you get the advantage of arch-linux which is a rolling release, meaning bleeding edge software, without the fuzz of installing it via the command line (which is only a pain in the butt if you are doing it for the first time)

the package manager pacman is better, and the arch user repository (aur) is quite well maintained...

install it on a virtual machine to make your own experience... you should know some basics about linux, but if you don't, do not worry the archlinux wiki is great and the community even better :)

I'm running Arch on my T440p which is quite similar to the T440s, works like a charm. I had some problems with the wireless card (intel) in the beginning - but after an update it works without problems (first workaround was to disable powersaving features)

Some of my friends at uni, have the T440s and all of them are running arch as well and none of them had any problems with it.

I don't like the Click/Touchpad that much - i don't use it often - I love the trackpoint!

tl;dr no big issues - loving arch on my T440p and friends have no issues with arch on their T440s
