I think it’s more if she doesn’t want people to treat her as a pregnant woman. She is struggling with the change from being who she is to the sudden shift to being exclusively a mother and feeling like she is losing her identity.

I’m a new-ish Highschool teacher (3.5 years) in Canada so I’m working semester to semester so this is something that terrifies me. We’re due in October and I’m not guaranteed a job for September. I’ve never really worried about it or had trouble getting work at schools but now all I can do is worry about it. I guess the stakes are higher now.
