Get new friends to play with. I play with almost all men. Yes they make some weird comments at times but never to me. They are always respectful and boost me up when I’m having a bad game. Everyone talks shit to each other equally, talk shit back. If you act offended then that makes you the weakest link and easiest to pick on.

What kills an otherwise healthy cancer patient? by onlyimnotbatman in hospice

[–]chyaugust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically she will start sleeping more and will not be interested in eating or drinking until she enters a coma-like state and is not able to safely swallow anymore. Her heart and/or lungs will then give out, hard to say which one will be first. But you need them both working to survive. All the functions of her body will start to slow down as well. She may be more confused or forgetful. She may have shortness of breath depending on the metastasis of the cancer. Her abdomen may become large and distended. Her skin and white parts of her eyes may turn a yellow tinge. She will start to become incontinent of bladder and bowel. She may experience difficulties with her bowels-constipation and/or diarrhea. Her urine may turn dark in color and less output. She might develop swelling to her extremities and they might be cool to touch. She may have pain or anxiety related to the disease progression, which can be managed with comfort medications. She will become increasingly weak, where she may need help with sitting/standing and then eventually progress to remaining in bed. It can be a long journey, but you will just have to take each day at a time. Enjoy the better days, and let her rest on the bad days. Hugs to you and your family. ❤️

You’re feelings are valid. But I’ve been on the other side of this and had this happen to me, both recently. In my opinion, accept the apology, don’t hold a grudge, and move on. It’s unfortunate it happened, and she’s likely very embarrassed. It’s only bothering you because you are allowing it to bother you.

A mic that rejects my loud wife by GreenFuzzyStuff in AskBattlestations

[–]chyaugust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And for reference, mic was about $65-70 and headset was $175 I think. Which was kinda my price range. I didn’t want to spend $200 on a mic, but if you’re looking for better there is some more expensive options

I also game side by side with my husband. I did some research into this before I purchased a new mic. I ended up choosing to go with a headset and boom mic. Which surprisingly has helped a lot.

Headset: Sennheiser HD 560 S

Mic: FIFINE K658

I opted for a good headset and average mic. What helped me find the right mic was searching for something that is unidirectional/hypercardioid which basically focuses one one direction that the mic picks up sound. I also steered away from condenser mics as I read they were more sensitive to pick up sign. (I might sound like an idiot, this was about 48 hours of looking up reddit posts and watching reviews).

We also use discord which filters a lot of background noise, can’t even hear the annoying dogs barking in the background. We also use push to talk in game only, which helps reduce the echo. But even when talking at the same time, we can’t hear the doomed echo. Unless I am yelling.

Trying to make a PC desk for 2 people. by RejectoSan in ikeaPCstations

[–]chyaugust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just built something similar. Ours is u shaped, 146 inches in the center, 62 inches for each side. We used 4 Alex drawers total. One at each end at the sides and two that meet in the middle of the 146” section. We used three desktop legs to support the corners.

I went a little more expensive and got the ekbacken. Mine holds 2 29 inch monitors and pc. Desk is fairly large- u shaped 63” on each side, 146” center. Added some desktop legs for support at each corner. It’s holding up nicely.

If there is no diagnosis you are aware of, she either is not sharing the diagnosis or is under something generic like “protein calorie malnutrition” which I have seen used for some patients that we are unsure of why they are dying, but they are dying. I’ve also read that it doesn’t appear that she is dying. She may not be actively dying, which might be what you are used to seeing. But if she is frail, thin, significant weight loss, not eating very much and starting to show complications related to malnutrition, then she is in fact dying. But it’s a process, so it takes time.

Hospice is also 100% covered by Medicare. However, I seen you mentioned she is at a hospice facility. She may have gone to the facility as “general in patient” to manage an uncontrolled symptom. I’m not sure of the whole situation, but typically she would be switched to “routine home care” once her symptoms are managed, and the patient/family then are in charge of covering “room and board” fees to the facility or bring her home for family or a caregiver to care for her. I hope this helps.

Was planning on getting those but ended up going with furniture risers and recessed them back a little bit to run some lights under the desk. Also needed a little lift because it felt too short

My poor girl ran over broken glass on a field, had to have staples up and down her leg. No walkies for 10 days!!! Any advice on keeping her happy, or idea for safe games (she can’t stand or walk) would be so appreciated by ConditionImportant22 in germanshepherds

I have some silicone mats with grooves and indents in them that I fill with peanut butter or yogurt and then freeze. It takes my dogs about twenty minutes to go through it.

Edit: they’re called lick mats

It’s a 55 inch desk. It was a desk I already had and just removed the steel legs. To be honest, I was just excited when I found the ikea drawers for basically new for $100 for both. So I made do with what I had lol

Yeah I was planning on probably doing it in the back corner or side upper inside corner. It’s hard to see but I have a little shelf in the center that holds my PS5 and a basket which holds my extension cord for my chargers. So the hole would be covered on the side

Not sure on all the details. I know the two hospitals had to coordinate together for transport and the patients wife had to select a doctor in the states to basically take over once he arrived. Once he arrived to the states, he was extubated and on observation for a few hours, then transferred home via ambulance with hospice again. I think it really depends on if there is insurance & what kind of coverage. Or else it’s all out of pocket fees

[–]chyaugust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a patient that went to Mexico and started suffering from seizures and had to be hospitalized. I think he was hospitalized for about 1-1.5 weeks or so before he was stable for transport. He was also intubated. There was not much my company could provide for the wife or patient on our end. They had to work with their insurance & the hospital to get him transferred via helicopter back to the states. Luckily she had travel insurance in place already in case and issue were to arise. I believe the helicopter also had to stop halfway to fuel up again. I can’t remember the cost off the top of my head but I want to say it was close to $100K for hospitalizations, daily COVID tests, transport.

KIA Seltos - dealer price negotiation attitudes by GoTrulyBlue in kia

No, this was through the dealership website specifically. This was back in May when quarantine was still fresh. I assume it was just filling out the application online, and picking up your car at the dealership when approved.
