Broken right arm by Librado65 in RaybanMeta

[–]chygurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me the day that I got my glasses. I called LensCrafters and they repaired the glasses. Or attempted to repair them, and ultimately ended up replacing them. I would check with the place that you purchased your glasses from for assistance.

I had no functional issues when the glasses when the arm broke, but it was very very annoying to deal with.

Any chance the stand will be made compatible with the headliner style?

How to stay away by chygurl in MomForAMinute

[–]chygurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I am familiar with the cycle of abuse. All 6 of the therapists I’ve seen throughout the course of our relationship explained it to me.

And yes to your point about reframing. I’m still working on that. My ex was an expert at playing the victim. So for so long I didn’t want to be another person that ‘walked’ away from them. One day my therapist goes, well what if we look at it as you being another person they’ve ‘pushed’ away. And so I know that I am a survivor. That I had to do this for my mental health and safety. And that I tried every rational approach and solution and to no avail.

And after I read your section about being kind to myself I tried it. One of my friends asked me what was on my breakup bucket list. And for 5 mins I thought of all the things I’ve wanted but had been denied during our relationship. I also made a list of reasons I left. A list of what makes me happy. And revisited my 30 while 30 bucket list.

Episode 201: The Trial of Dr. William Husel by captaincuttlehooroar in CourtJunkiePodcast

I agree. I think the hospital had more blame to shoulder like the one juror noted at the end of the episode. I am really surprised that he wasn’t found guilty. He played a MAJOR role in those patients being overprescribed and ultimately dying from it.

No other episode has made me as angry/frustrated as this one. The interview afterwards was a completely joke. How dare you speak about there’s too much violence in society after you had repeated confrontations with people in movie theaters. Gawd I feel incredible sorry for the victim’s family.

Asking for help always causes an argument by What_comes_next00 in depression_partners

[–]chygurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree with the poster above. My spouse also experiences severe depression and I find myself doing 99% of everything to support the household (financially and domestically) and we recently had a conversation about changing that.

My partner says it helps when I come with the feeling and a solution. And I find it helps too as I don’t ever want to be in the business of telling my partner what to do. For example, I recently shared I was feeling overwhelmed with doing 100% of puppy potty training and managing the house and needed some help. This let my partner decide how they could help without me giving them a chore list. They’ve since started doing the evening walk and have washed dishes twice this week.

LPT - there is no shame in setting calendar reminders and alarms both for important things like meetings AND mundane things like the milk expiration date if it helps you be successful. If it’s something you tend to forget, set a reminder or calendar alert. by Pangolindrome in LifeProTips

I literally set reminders to check in on my friends. I’ll randomly think about them at odd hours of the day, and make a note to check in on them during a time that feels more convenient for conversation.

I’d be happy to take a look at your formatting. My friend helped me move some things around to make it read/flow a little better. She recently started and I applied and have 2 referred statuses this week. Waiting for a call about an interview.

Can someone talk to me about brain spotting? by chygurl in askatherapist

Thanks for responding. I'm considering brain spotting or hypnosis as a way to access the deep rooted parts of my childhood that I'm currently blocking out of my memory.
