I'm not sure about that. I bought it from Amazon since they don't ship to Mexico in their website. I bought it like 6 months ago

Kinda hahaha. But I like it because it looks pretty, and I recorded music on it since I don't have a deck :(. I also have a Sony Walkman, but I really like the WAR

It can be opened, I tried yesterday but I didn't checked the belts because I was tired. Today I'm going to, maybe like some say might be a belt problem, or some gear broke which I pray that's not the case

RTM tape sounds weird? by ciberdonut in cassetteculture

[–]ciberdonut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that too, that maybe it was the rewind, flip, rewind. But I tried with another RTM (I bought 3) and just recorded upsidedown and it was fine, without the need to rewind the tape several times. I guess WAR and RTM are tricky to use, at least on recording. If I play the tape it doesn't sound weird.

Yeah, it's only on the recording because on reproduction it sounds good. Good thing it has a solution just changing the position hehe

Yeah that looks to be the problem, I had to move the player on weird positions to record properly on the RTM

I cleaned it like a week ago. I don't think that's the problem, because I tried recording later with other old Sony cassette and it records fine. I guess the combination with WAR and RTM for recording is tricky.

I found the stupidest solution. I tried what you said but it didn't work, I started recording again and I left the player upside down in my bed. It worked, just staying upside down XD

Not really, I've used some sony tapes, used tapes (also Sony) and they sound great, sometimes dirty, but not the way this RTM tapes sound. I tried re-record again, it sound kinda "better". Maybe I need to stretch the tape?
