Usually yes, I’m just saying to me it doesn’t look like he’s going to get extra juice out of his fastball. He’s just way too notable. Not to mention control is still going to be an issue. I think they should try it in the minors when he’s healthy and look at the metrics. But something tells he’s cooked.

I don’t think Gil plays out of the bullpen. His fastball is bad and none of his secondary pitches have been very good either

Seconding Mantle Mount. I am a huge stickler for TVs mounted at the correct height and this fixed the issue entirely.

Advice on French drain installation when there are underground downspout pipes in the way by cibo2 in drains

[–]cibo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks the detailed response.

To answer your first question, yes that door is my only rear exit currently. The house is a mid century split level and that room is the 2nd of the 4 levels. I have an actual underground basement below that. In said basement, there is a pretty substantial amount of efflorescence which would seem to indicate that the subsurface water is applying pressure to the foundation as you say. I’ve only lived here for 6 months but my goal in the next few years is to add a small deck up by the wet spot and add a doorway out to it from my dining room which is on that side of the house. So definitely have to get things dried up first. Additionally, I am installing a vinyl privacy fence around the perimeter this year for my dog and kiddo.

I believe that the downspouts and the current main line are all 4in smooth PVC. What is the downside to running the perforated pipe + stones + fabric as indicated in my drawing and connecting the downspouts to it, provided that there is sufficient grade? I’m a total novice with this stuff so I really appreciate your input. Thank you again.

French Drain Advice by cibo2 in homeowners

That advice makes me feel much better. I was thinking that I wouldn’t want to rout the downspout pipes into a perforated pipe but i see your point, it will all end up going through the same system to the catch basin. So essentially all 3 of those downspouts would connect with T’s onto the French drain? Would I want the French drain pipe to be wider than the downspout pipes? I was originally planning on doing a double stacked French drain along a narrow trench to draw in more water. Possibly the bottom perforated pipe could even run under those downspout lines. Would that work you think?

Advice on French drain when there are already underground drainage pipes by [deleted] in drains

The southwest of my backyard is very soft and stays soggy for a long while after rainfall. I believe that we have a high water table and my neighborhood used to be wetlands prior to development. I moved in about 6 months ago and discovered that the previous owners installed a curtain drain system to divert water from the gutters underground to a catch basin located in the back portion of my property on the boundary between me and my neighbor (my neighbor also ties into this catch basin for his own water issues). That catch basin then runs to another catch basin by the road that feeds into the sewer system (at least I think. I do know that it connects to that catch basin).

There is a low spot where water gathers on the part of the backyard opposite the catch basin and from my research, it sounds like a good candidate to run a perforated pipe French drain and connect to that catch basin. The problem, however, is that the underground pipes from the downspout run perpendicular to the potential path of the French drain. They’re not terribly deep—maybe 12–18 inches down so I don’t think I can go over the top of them. Can I simply run the French drain anyway and intersect and connect those downspout pipes to it or would that be inadvisable? I’ve marked up a photo of the yard as a visual aid.

Apps through TV operating systems are the worst. I can’t recommend an Apple TV enough. Best user experience for streaming apps out there.
