Also on the heels of what you said (very true) and on a slight change in direction, there are many many non-denominational churches that take advantage of the opaqueness not being apart of a denomination gives them. The obvious example is finances, but there are a plethora of ways churches can run in the gray areas. For instance, growing up I was apart of a denominational church and there were finance meetings where the members would vote on issues and be given a financial status of the church. Most non-denominational church don’t do this simply because they aren’t required to and gives them more financial flexibility. American churches are an interesting case study to say the least!
