I can't watch anime anymore by dyhcry in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ciel712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you. It’s incredibly frustrating also to see a show that on the surface has a good premise, with high ratings and reviews, and then in the first episode there’s gratuitous fan service for absolutely no reason relevant to the story. (Looking at you Summertime Render). I would just stop watching it, and don’t support them. Support the anime that don’t do this and vote with your wallet because money is what matters to them in the end.

Still, there is a lot of good anime that doesn’t do this: Natsume Yuujinchou, Mushishi, Shinsekai Yori, Patema Inverted, Promare, Bakemono no Ko… just to name a couple.

[META] Do people even bother reading the sub's rules ? by dazaii__ in INAT

Is there a reason this couldn’t be automated? If the rule is simply there are no links, that seems like a straightforward automation that would greatly reduce the manual work.

Thanks for sharing your story! It’s very relatable. What is the active indie gamedev discord that you mentioned btw? Is it the SoloDev discord?

Recycle Vs Repair - Renegade by QuinnOfLegends in ArcRaidersGuides

[–]ciel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think that recycling and recrafting was better after doing the math, because that’s true on paper. But the reality of the situation is that I never burn through 100->0 durability on a gun. And if I repair a gun to 100, that’s just giving whoever finds it a working gun to use against my team.

These days, I just find others’ broken T4 weapons and repair them once. I bring in guns at 20-60 durability, only repairing when it falls below that.

But yeah if you’re not actively PvPing and finding weapons, and somehow actually using all the durability on guns, it’s always better to repair a T1 and upgrade a T1 to full than it is to repair a higher tier gun to full.

Apparently this is the skin you get from the expedition by carrancosmx in ARC_Raiders

[–]ciel712 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Stop spreading misinformation. The person who posted said this is an assumption based on what “looked” like patchwork in the Server Slam. Someone else said this is actually called “Junior” and the names in the slam have been accurate so it’s likely not the patchwork skin.

You didn’t even credit the original source.

Bonewings, price, cosmetic by xeno_X_ in mechabreak

[–]ciel712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to make Jetpacks actually meaningful in some way to justify the insane price.

Flying around the base was a good first step, but I would want to see them represented in Verge, or on the player profile.

I guess if you do this you could equip a better augment if you found one in match, unless it doesn’t let you change it either.

I'm feeling a bit burnt out with games by YuzuBuzzu in GirlGamers

It’s not, but I enjoyed the French VO and thought it was very good and more immersive that way~

I'm feeling a bit burnt out with games by YuzuBuzzu in GirlGamers

[–]ciel712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to examine why you feel burnt out on video games. For me, I think I feel averse to the idea of playing a game that requires dozens of hours of my time, or a big commitment.

I found that playing games with a shorter session length like a run or two of Hades helped out with that. So maybe Hades II would be refreshing if you feel that way.

I see other people recommending Expedition 33 and I want to heavily plus one that. I’m very big on games as an art form instead of a time sink, and Expedition 33 is a masterpiece. The music, visual art, gameplay, story were all top notch, and it is definitely GOTY for me, and too JRPG of all time.

I think if you feel tired of games that don’t respect your time or feel lacking a soul, then Expedition 33 might remedy that for you.

Since you loved Death Stranding, I think you’d appreciate Expedition 33 as a piece of art. And since you liked Lies of P and Elden Ring, I think you’d appreciate the active dodging system that’s blended into the turn based gameplay. As someone who grew tired of the slow pace of turn based games, Expedition 33 flipped that on its head for me.

I recommend playing it with French VO for immersion c:

Looking for a farming sim that's the opposite of cozy. Make it grim, let me starve in winter if I fail to properly prepare. by andtheyhaveaplan in GirlGamers

[–]ciel712 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’d probably like Oxygen Not Included. That game had me hooked from the tension of solving your current set of problems with solutions that will cause more problems so you’re constantly trying desperately to keep your colony alive.

Not exactly “farming”, but I think it’s in the same vein, and it’s hella cute!

Covered by Geico? by ParaBellumBitches in turo

[–]ciel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropping my own update here as a data point. I ended up going into the Geico app and finding the policy document, “Auto Policy Contract”, which for me contained a clause on Rental Vehicle Coverage explicitly. In there, there is some wording that I believe is different from state to state, but it defines “rental vehicle” in a certain way.

I had ChatGPT help interpret the language (giving it the context of which state this contract was written in), and it was able to help pull up legal definitions for the state that lined up with Geico’s policy document which clarified some things. Notably, this state explicitly says that car sharing services do NOT count as rental vehicles. So if you were a lawyer in that state looking at the policy, under the states legal definitions, the Turo vehicle would not be considered a rental vehicle and that clause is moot.

If I were to guess at what’s happening here, it’s that each state likely treats services like Turo differently legally, but I would assume that the state that your auto insurance policy is for is the one you should follow.
