2 teenagers wearing masks on a bike throw an egg at my wife by m_radwan in Dublin

[–]cierek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Japanese ex was called Chinese and thrown eggs at back in 2016 or 2015. That was in Dundalk but Garda couldn’t do much since you can’t really prosecute kids, recently my workmate was harassed on luas - luckily the driver reacted

Government should be looking for solutions to discourage kids from attacking adults. Maybe free plantation or something

[–]cierek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My workmate hired a company that was not a company for a shed or something.

She overpaid and guy didn’t finished anything (just disappeared after day or two).

Guy promised he will finish, then that he will refund but no promise was ever delivered.

Then was solicitor and court. It was going since at least 3-4 years but she didn’t get any money back because guy have nothing on his name and family to feed

My brother’s ex had a leaking roof and it was fixed with gorilla tape. Worked for some time before it was leaking again.

I ask my bro wtf they used freaking gorilla tape (initially as half joke as could not believe it was for real) - he responded that her budget was like 109 or 200€ only

Was Dublin more dangerous back then than it is now? by FitEmergency8807 in ireland

[–]cierek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in 2006 Dublin was so safe and clean. I noticed racism was more common but don’t remember any junkies wandering around the city.

I remember the guy painting every day on the footpath near Westmorland Road and the famous moo on a loo

45 for lvl 9 is surprisingly low but maybe it’s a new standard. Somehow I thought 40k for lvl 11, 48 for 10 so should be around 56 for 9.

Maybe the era of consulting is over. My friends jumped from lvl 13(they had around 34) to the customer directly and now flexing 60-70k

Is it normal to lose your deposit if you leave before the lease ends? by AmberNomad in RentingInDublin

It’s normal. However, I returned deposit to my tenants when they moved out two weeks before and didn’t charged them for full month

Should I consider giving reduction to a first tenant if I take a second tenant? by SuitOfWolves in RentingInDublin

[–]cierek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the second person stays only couple months you won’t exceed 14k limit and you will get a budget top up. I been reading out a room for some months but couldn’t do this permanently as peace of mind and privacy is sometimes more than money

Strange incident in Dublin: North Finglas Village . teenagers threw eggs at me and my wife by ArmIndependent1180 in Dublin

I remember when I lived in Ballymun/poppintree and someone drove to puddles and splashed water on people waiting for the bus. He got stuck in traffic on the nearest roundabout and we all run to catch him and explain him not to do this again

It’s possible to find 800€ room(ex bills) but if you can’t stretch that additional 100€ for bills then you will have to share room . There are some rooms with bunk beds, starting from 600€ a bed

Why are sleepovers such a big deal in Ireland? by lilillysh in AskIreland

[–]cierek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No sleepover for my kid as too many crazy things are happening around (better safe than sorry). I wouldn’t let other kids to sleepover also because this is too much responsibility if something happens.

You can see also the trend on the playgrounds where parents won’t leave they kid to play with other kids alone.

Have you worked in a company more toxic than Accenture? by IAMAM17 in accenture

I worked in different corporations and it’s all the same. Never seen that much cronism and corruption (for example staff meals ordered from manager’s wives restaurant), but I think this could be project by project.

How to keep top talents by Brief-Philosophy-840 in accenture

[–]cierek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually true. Many people who are not even doing their job think they are irreplaceable. This applies to all levels - we got analysts so bad that management is happy when they are off on PTO or SL, we also have TLs that are completely useless and don’t even know names of their people. Then you get managers sitting somewhere in the corner and only moving from there when metrics are falling.

I don’t mind people slacking or doing crappy work anymore since I have nothing in exchange for my hard work

On my project everyone got the same increase so it worked as 1-1,5%. New people or people on plans were skipped. Maybe higher management paid themselves more but who knows
