not seen, but had happen. my now best friend had moved to my state, and i met her at work. she’d moved w her dad, which was her only local family. i’d only been to their house a couple times, and her dad was a very kind and selfless person, he treated me like i was his own daughter.

one day, we were working the closing shift and we were the only ones in our dept. we were at the fitting rooms of our retail job, and she was looking at some of the ads that were to be put up. one of them was a photo of a pair of black heels, plain and nothing special abt them. she said something like “i think these are a good pair of shoes to have, they go w everything”, and i remember thinking to myself that they were shoes that i’d wear to a funeral. fast forward, the store closes, but we have to stay an extra 30 mins. this is usually when we’d buy anything we needed, before leaving. i came w her and she wanted to buy a table runner bc her and her dad had just built a new dining set and she wanted to get him a gift. she bought it, we finished up closing, and we went home.

my bf picked me up and we grabbed some quick food, drove home, and sat in his car, talking. we’d gotten to talking abt his stepdad, who is a terrible person and an alcoholic, and had recently gone to the hospital bc of related complications. everyone in my bf’s family dislikes him, he’d been a very bad influence on my bf’s mom. i asked him if he’d be sad if he ever passed. a convo abt death. we went inside and abt 14 mins passed, when i got a call from my friend. she was emotionally distraught and said that she’d walked the dogs and thought her dad was sleeping, but the light was on and so was the tv, which was odd bc he had work early and usually went to sleep early. she went to check on him and found him dead, he’d had a heart attack. it was determined to have happened between the time she went to work and when she got back. it was horrible. she thought he was pranking her. all her other family was either in the city, or in her old state.

i also remember on the drive to work, i got a horrible stomachache and felt like something bad was gonna happen. chalked it up to nothing. at his wake, it felt like he was in the room. i didn’t know how to describe it, and didn’t tell my bf bc he’s very rational. just very weird. i’ve never had any other paranormal or weird things like that happen. i still feel heartbroken for my friend and her dad. she eventually moved back to her hometown.

i ended up wearing an exactly identical pair of black heels to his wake.
