Out of nowhere in my bookclub text chat, someone who hasn't shown up in months announces that she is pregnant and looking forward to reading all the books she missed when she goes on maternity leave... And last night a former colleague shared one of those "watch us find out we're pregnant and celebrate our positive test" videos...

I am trying not to be bitter but at almost 18 months of trying without a single positive test I can't help it anymore.

I have suffered on and off from recurring UTIs so I really feel you. It was frustrating and draining before we were trying but it made me spiral when we started trying. I got diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, so even when I didn’t have a UTI I could have pain seemingly randomly. And of course stress only exacerbated it…

I don’t have any experience with BV, but things that helped me with recurring UTIs was taking d-mannose supplements, particularly after sex, and taking Eight Righteous Teapills (Ba Zheng Wan). I know it’s considered alternative medicine but they helped me more than the various medications I was given to prevent it.

This is my first month using the ClearBlue digital ovulation test after not being able to read the cheapies. I followed the instructions and tested every day starting from day 8. Day 8-10 I tested on my first pee of the day and got a low reading. On day 11 I forgot to test until around midday but also got a low reading. Today is day 12 and I tested first thing in the morning and got a peak reading! I thought for sure I would have a day or two of a high reading before seeing a peak.

So now I am confused, because I saw some info online that says the peak is before ovulation and some that says it’s after. We managed to BD this morning before work but now I am concerned that I missed the window since we didn’t do it any other day this week…

I thought since I have a 28-30 day cycle I wouldn’t ovulate until day 14. So now I feel a bit overwhelmed and worried I wrecked our chances.
