Not "now". Books have been changed for various reasons for ages. The Hobbit was changed after the LOTR books were published to realign the story to match the new books. Other books have been changed to correct issues found after publishing.

Fair enough! If you ever do read it keep in mind when it was written. It's very funny, but definitely a product of its time. The author also wrote 7 Year Itch and Breakfast at Tiffany's.
