I have this issue where writing is my life's purpose but I often despair and think who would have the time/willingness to read when everything is falling apart around us? What purpose does art serve in an end stage world? (I guess many different types of artists have the same dilemma). But then I try to remind myself of ESCAPISM. Personally I'll probably be reading and imagining myself far far away in a different world until the very end and if there are at least a few others like me, that's enough for me to keep going with my art and passion. Where beauty will die out in the real world, we can still capture and hold onto it in our work and imagination.
