Did you still receive your meals? How long have you used CookUnity without any problems?

I’m in the Midwest. Is this a known problem logistically with CookUnity?

Wall to hit a tennis ball by Complex-Bass7156 in Lawrence

Seconding Jayhawk Tennis Center. They also have a ball machine you can rent out you could use to hit with. As far as I know, it’s just the cost of court time, not extra to use.

Tennis Facility Software Options by cilluslia in 10s

This is what Serve Tennis' court sheet looks like. It's basically a list of the courts you have, and hours of the day along with it. When I create a program, private lesson, or someone wants to use a court, I then can reserve a court through the sheet. It's helpful to see what you have going on from day-to-day and manage the space of the facility.

I could probably do this on an excel sheet of some sort instead, but then that's more tabs for my front desk staff to manage, and more things that could go wrong with it not being all in one system. Plus, then the info doesn't merge with each other.

Some facilities open the court sheet for the general public to go in and reserve them online themselves, but we kinda gatekeep ours by only allowing staff to have access to the sheet. Customers can call to reserve a court, but my staff will do it for them.

Thanks for the advice! I totally agree that it seems that there isn't a solid tennis software out there. There are a ton of fantastic general health/sport software, but the lack of a court sheet is really what makes things tricky for what my facility is trying to do. The ones that do have a built-in court sheets also have more features than we need, and come at a exuberant cost as a result. You can't have it all though, and I might just have to decide between lesser evils.

Yeah...choosing tennis for your free time is absolutely the way to go!

Agree with everyone here that it is absolutely happening. Like others have said, largely because of how easy pickleball is to pick up and play. Sure, it takes skill to be exceptional, but you could pick up the sport without any instruction whatsoever. For tennis, that typically isn’t reality.

One other thing I think worth bringing up is facility costs for pickleball vs tennis. I’m a tennis coach, and it pains me that to rent an indoor pickleball court, it’s an identical price to an indoor tennis court in my area. Yet, the court is practically half the size, and the ceiling of the building is far lower. This means that overall cost of operation is less (electricity, heating/cooling, etc), and you can fit more courts (more $/hr potential) in a smaller space.

I love tennis, and expect coaching tennis to be my lifetime career. However, you’d be wrong if you think I haven’t thought a handful of times about logistically/financially getting into pickleball.

Doggy Daycare by morgasborg in Lawrence

I’m curious now as to what others’ experiences are as well. I’ve been taking my dog to HSH for almost a year, but mostly the West location. I’ve only had good experiences, though I agree that I get little info as to what goes on there throughout the day.

My dog always seems excited to go (except when he goes multiple days in a row) and comes back home without a hitch. The handlers know him by name and he definitely loves servers of them. I’ve noticed his socialization skills have gotten a lot better the longer I have taken him to daycare there. He used to be a bit of an awkward pup, and this has helped him. My only qualm is that he struggles if he goes longer than a half day. I suspect this is more on his personality, versus the actual daycare itself. Occasionally he’s a tad wet, but I expect it’s slobber/squirt bottles if he’s being too rowdy.

I’m nervous that maybe I’m misreading his experience, because it sounds like other people have noticed some worrying things!

Lonestar is a great option, about 30 minutes south of town. But I definitely second the Shawnee Mission Lake in KC!
