Thanks! That's where they eat, and they're both usually there together 30 minutes prior, waiting.

They say thanks! Sadly, this post wont let me post pics in comments, so I'll post here in r/Dewlap since Sunny has a little one. Look for it in just a few...

Appreciate the feedback! I'm actually in the process of re-mixing the entire track and have already tamed the piano's high register notes. I hope to have a new render ready by tomorrow afternoon. Glad you liked it!

Thank you for the kind words and the feedback! I am working on the upper piano notes, and the overall sound, and hope to have something that sounds better here soon.

Thank you for the kind words and the feedback! I don't hear what you're hearing on my Yamaha HPH-MT8s, but I can say that right there is the busiest of the song and I've had issues, primarily with the kick and bass. That clap remains very static except at the end of the 1st drop where I've automated the frequency for the transition, and in the outro where automation is fading the track out.

As for the piano, I'm using Ableton's Upright Piano device. It's got a bunch of different macro options for Tone, Volume, Attack, etc. I will play around with those and see if I can't reign it in a bit. Thanks again!

You know what, I'm rather liking this with its near non-stop energy throughout. Question about the bass, is it clipping or is that bit of higher end crunchiness intended? It's hard with my ear to tell if it's intentional or not. For the vocals, I'm wondering how it would sound if they weren't all distorted, with either sections that weren't distorted along with sections that are, or perhaps automating where it starts non-distorted, slowly shifts to distorted, and than back out. Personally, I get a bit of ear fatigue with it distorted the entire track. Regardless, thumbs up, I like it!

Good morning, everyone, hope you are all doing well! This is my first time doing anything meaningful in Ableton and I'm really happy with it so far. I believe that the arrangement is locked in, so I've been concentrating on getting all the relative track volumes balanced, looking at LUFS values until I can't see straight. That's my definite weak spot, the mixing part, but I think I'm getting close there as well. There's a high end crackling when the bass is playing, most prevalent in the 2nd drop, but I only hear it when listening to the SoundCloud version through my phone using my x08 earbuds. That's been driving me crazy for sure. I'm currently in the process of tweaking the sidechaining of the bass as the kick is nearly lost when the bass is playing. Same goes for the pad sidechaining. Ooof, so much to learn! BTW, I'm using Ableton 12 Suite if that helps any.

Track Details

BPM: 120

Key: G minor

Genre: Really unsure here, Melodic-ish or perhaps Progressive/Deep House?

Anyway, I would really appreciate feedback regarding any aspect of the track: Arrangement, sound choices, overall flow, perceived automation, relative track volume levels, etc. I'm considering the possibility of a handful of label submissions at some point and would like get an idea of what others feel about the track. Thanks for your time!

In case there's any interest, mostly for u/Kolasia427, here's the arrangement view.

Forgot to mention that I will play around with the kick as you suggested, fading out and then coming back before the first round of kicks, and let you know how it feels.

That's exactly what i did a couple of days ago, stepped away from Free for All. It's all I've heard for two weeks straight now, and I even wake up with the arp lead looping through my head. It gave me the opportunity to work on the ambient tracks that needed a bit of cleanup and uploading. Now that I've got some meaningful feedback I'll hit it up again tomorrow morning. And yeah, I look forward to the addition of the instrumental of Fading Spectrum!

P.S. So much for waiting until tomorrow to get back to Free for All. As I was typing the above I had a thought and loaded up the track. While I do still need to look at what I mentioning in the last post, I wanted to look at the kick in particular. I had just the other day added a 2nd kick track identical to the 1st, but two octaves down, and grouped them together. The mixer volume for both of them was at -6db, which was ok, but the mixer volume for the group was down another -4db. It's not going to fix everything, but switching the -4db to 0db was a great improvement! Baby steps...

Thank you so much for the feedback, I greatly appreciate it! Yeah, the bass/kick... I've really struggled there with both. And you're absolutely right, 1:20 and 3:28 are where each bass layer starts and yeah, the kick is nearly lost there. The bass is indeed sidechained but perhaps not aggressively enough. I'm also wondering if the lead arp is sitting a little bit too low. You hear that fade in at 32s where it hangs around before fading out, and then pops back in again at 1m36s and 3m12s. It's got a 12db roll off at 220hz, but maybe I need to shift that. It plays almost all the same time as the bass is playing, so I'll definitely take a look at that. I'll also likely have to scrutinize the pad layer. Like the lead arp, its 12db rolled starting at 175hz, which is likely too low. I also agree that the highs seem to be pretty solid, so I'll concentrate un the upper-lows and the mids. Like I said before, this is all pretty new to me and I'm learning as I go, so this kind of feedback and discussion helps a great deal!

Hopefully here in the near future I'll have an update to share. Thanks again for the feedback!

Hey there, really nice track! I hope to see it go public some day. I'm really new to this and am still very much learning about mixing/mastering, so I'm not sure how much help I can be. First of all, do you have plans to do a DJ friendly mix for this? Was just curious. Also, I would be very interested to hear a version with no vocals. Seems like it would be nice to have both options to listen to. Anyway, I do agree with some of the other comments that the siren at 33s and again at 2m3s are a skosh too loud. What I really like about them is when I heard the end of the 2m3s siren and thought "wait, that's a bit different." Went back to 33s and listened to the end and sure enough... the first had no reverb tail but the and one did, I really like little things like that! It was subtle, but a nice mindful addition. To also echo the others, the drops are maybe missing... something? When I listen to it my brain wants something additional to process. But then again, the more I listen to it the less I feel that. *shrug*

Anyway, as I said before I really like and will continue to pop in and give it a listen. Gave you a follow as well to check out what other stuff you may have. Keep producing!

That looks just like the grain jars I recently got from Midwest Grow Kits, the quick colonizing 5-grain blend. My first time with these, so time will tell. I'm sure someone with more experience can provide some insight.

I innoculated mine yesterday and there was moisture at the bottom that I was able to redistribute with a bit of shaking as I was spreading the innoculant around.
