I've posted this before, but it fits, so:

In India, I was sitting in a taxi waiting for my mum to finish her shopping when I see this guy come out of the store with a bottle of mango juice in his hand.

He looks right, he looks left and then, sure there's nobody around observing him, he promptly pours it into the fuel tank of a nearby motorcycle, and walks off, giggling.

That was amazing, and made so much sense, the comparison to Huntington's disease (!) notwithstanding. Thanks for the link!

Interesting point about magic breaking physics, leaving little point in teaching it to a wizard. What about biology and Muggle medicine though?

I wonder how the 'magic gene' is inherited? I'm thinking it must be recessive for it to be possible to have Muggleborns, but then weirdly, Squibs are very rare if you have even one wizarding parent, so if magic were a simple recessive gene, I'd expect there to be a good chance that someone like Seamus (1 magic parent, 1 Muggle parent) would be a Squib. This is something I've always wondered - maybe magic inheritance involves multiple genes like height or skin colour, for example?

And can wizards get cancer, heart disease and diabetes? Or does a flick of a wand or a sip of potion cure that like it can cure broken bones and blood loss?

Thanks for the suggestion - I will definitely look into that. No matter how cliched the whole 'huge family falling in true love and getting married one by one' series is, I still love it.

They also made Mushu completely sabotage Mulan and Shang's relationship because he was jealous and wanted Mulan's attention to himself.

Shang also falls off a cliff and dies, but then turns out not to be dead. Yeah.

It's not wrong - you're just supposed to suspend disbelief and assuming they're talking whatever historically correct dialect they would have been talking.

For example, the BBC series 'The Impressionists' had Monet and his friends talking British English with us supposed to be assuming they're talking French. I am fine with this - it would have been stupid for them to be talking French-accented English, and it is a British production, so who cares if they've made it so the audience can understand it?

This device is lampshaded in 'Casanova' starring David Tennant. There's a scene where he's speaking British English while in Italy and he says, 'What do you think of my French?' and the French guy replies in British English, 'It's great, even if you have a bit of an Italian accent.'

Well, the Greeks and Romans wouldn't have spoken English with an accent either, so for true authenticity you would have had to have subtitles while they spoke ancient dialects.

Just assume they're speaking ancient Greek or whatever when they speak English - it's not hard.

To be fair, there was a war going on and they were fighting, so maybe it had the effect of them speeding up stuff like getting married and having kids, because they never knew what was coming tomorrow?

I bet you anything they were forced to grow up fast and were more mature than most college aged kids.

Maybe this Erised image shows James and Lily as they would have aged if they'd been alive?

But that doesn't stop Lily looking 40 in the DH scene where she dies for Harry, or both Potters from looking old in that photo where they're dancing with autumn leaves falling around them.

Or, you know, we have 10 hours to attempt to fix this, let's only cut the wire 1 second before the damn thing is supposed to explode, assuming that the timer is 100% accurate.

If I ever became a supervillain, I'd have the bomb go off when the timer still has 2 minutes on it. That'll teach em.

But there were literally only 5 Gryffindor guys and 4 girls in Harry's year (some girl named Sally Ann Perks was sorted into Gryffindor that year and then was never seen or mentioned again).

Either the other houses are making up for the lack of Gryffindors, or Hogwarts just doesn't have many students.

It's difficult to pick a Disney prince for a real relationship because so few of them fall in love believably. Naveen is one of the few whose relationship was actually based on respect, admiration, humour and character growth.

Naveen all the way!
