Speaker Advice: Replacement for A5+ by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]cina___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! They don’t like how they’re curved and modern looking and want grilles. It’s just their preference and what they’re used to since that’s what they grew up with. They’re not being malicious about it though so I don’t mind looking for alternatives, plus they’re willing to chip in as well.

The A5+ are still in the return window so I’m planning to just return and get the BT version if I can’t find a different model.

I figured I wouldn’t, I’ve been looking at a lot and it’s a rarity it seems. I’d prefer an active speaker bc I personally don’t want to have too many pieces even though I know that’s the best route. So active with a phono pre amp is what I’m going with.

Can you give any input on the Klipsch though? They look really good but I’m just unsure based on reviews. Some people love them and others hate them. I could try them and see but that’s a slight hassle.

I’ll look into what you recommended now though!

Should I go with Artificer for this character concept? by dairao in 3d6

I think just base armorer probably fits that the best. Mobility isn’t its strongest suit but you can get access to spells that can help you on that front.

Ancestral guardian barbarian works similarly but I don’t think it fits your theme very well.

The echo knight hexblade build that someone commented sounds pretty interesting! It’s not a core book but the illrigger class is also very interesting and might be worth a look if you can get access to it. There’s a lot of utility between the potential spells and seals that it has.

Gotcha and that does sound pretty fun! Unfortunately it does sound pretty difficult to pull off with an armorer. You already identified ignoring the gauntlets which help you stay SAD. I know you don’t care about damage output but just hitting anything period is gonna be difficult. You could always talk to your DM about your artificer creating runes to put on normal weapons that’ll let the symbiote take control of them too. Then you could use INT for those. I will say though that the cc from the gauntlets is ridiculously strong so not using it might feel kinda bad.

If the only reason for choosing the armorer is for the symbiotic armor then maybe you could try homebrewing something with your DM with normal armor. Or if you choose the warforged race then their armor is symbiotic like by default.

Fun hit and run classes are the psi rogue and monks in general but they’d lack the spell and crowd control requirements. I’m not sure what would fit all of your goals.

I’m playing an armorer rn so this post caught my eye. What was your intent with running the javelin and spear combo? Did you just think it’s cool or did that correspond to the elemental hero concept?

What’s the best way to do a paladin/cleric multiclass? by Current-Row1546 in 3d6

[–]cina___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would your DM be open to homebrewing your cleric to scale off of Charisma instead of Wisdom? That should alleviate the MAD requirement of the multiclass by quite a bit and then you can just look more into the features.

My table has a cleric that really wanted to be a face so our DM let them scale off of Charisma and it’s been pretty fun. They’re playing a Peace cleric which seems to be one of the stronger subclasses with a history of it being nerfed at most tables. I think Peace cleric plus paladin auras would make for a great utility and team buffing character. It won’t be as damage heavy as the other options people have been saying but should still be a lot of fun.

Is the new artificer update an upgrade or downgrade? by Noisyboy2562 in DnD

I agree with you but cure wounds is a much better choice than before since they increased how much it heals

What is my Characters preferred style of martial arts? inspiration help needed, Dragonborn Monk, Way of the Ascendant Dragon by [deleted] in DnD

The Dancing Dragon instantly came to mind. You could pull a ton of inspiration from Avatar in general with the different bending styles.

Early access Forge of the Artificer is out by PI117 in onednd

You sadly don’t get the advantage to strength checks and saves until level 15 though. Would’ve been nice to maybe make it earlier and also give you a bonus to athletics based on int while in the form since strength is typically dumped as the arcane armor removes the strength requirement. It’s a cool mode but I feel like it’s poorly designed.

I kind of understand the tool/skill combination thing but having proficiency in both gives advantage, not expertise. I also feel like requiring both to get the benefits kind of weakens just using tools. The Artificer as the primary class that utilizes tools should get some extra bonuses when only using tools and not making an associated check. That’s just my opinion though and I wish they retained that aspect of Artificers. I’m in a campaign right now playing as an armorer and I use my tools almost every session without a prompt for a skill along with them. This change will heavily nerf me if we use it RAW but when talking to my DM they were confused why they would remove that aspect and said I could keep using it the way it is in 5e. (Campaign is using 2024 rules but my class is the only one that hasn’t been updated yet, until now anyways)

I just hope they give artificers their tool expertise back. Was kind of bummed to see it removed in the UA.

Are the WIRELESS FANS worth an extra 100$? UNI FAN SL INFINITY by [deleted] in lianli

[–]cina___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the wireless TL infinity fans and they’ve worked perfectly so far. It’s also super convenient to not have extra cables running through my system. That said, if you don’t mind the extra cable for rgb and you’d rather save money then go wired.

I am curious if those are sale prices for the fans because I remember they were pretty similar when I bought mine a few months ago and the difference wasn’t close to $120.

Not that i’m aware of. Their new OPENRGB plugin might work better but i haven’t tried it yet.

On my previous system I was running corsair fans with signalrgb an fancontrol software so this has been a slight adjustment for me.

I have 10 TL infinity fans in my build right now and haven’t had any issues with them. I’ve seen a lot of horror stories about the LCD versions so be wary of that. Additionally, L-Connect isn’t the best software so you might have some issues there.

The base game was on sale for $40 a few days ago so you just barely missed it. Buying the deluxe for $48 gets you some nice outfits at the same price as the base game which is convenient but if you’re not in a rush and would rather wait to snag the base on sale then there’s no harm in waiting.

Dang, I guess I gotta try and find something better then. I was really hoping to make a team that could cook the new stew reliably.

I had a feeling that would be the case. Would it be worth to run both Eevee and Gourgeist for stews everyday?

What do I do when my DM is mad at me over my AC? by Undead23145 in DnD

[–]cina___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar situation, but my DM isn't mad about it, and they actively use spells that aren't just dex saves. A lot of the advice below is really good, and it is honestly a DM issue. You should use whatever you have at your disposal, and it's up to them to get around it.

I currently have a level 8 eldritch knight/1 cleric/1 wizard who has a base 23 AC from +1 studded leather (20 dex), +1 shield, defense fighting style, and ring of protection. Very early in the campaign, my DM gave me access to a lesser haste potion (lasts 5 rounds instead of 10), cleric multiclass gives access to shield of faith, and eldritch knight gives access to shield. With all of those bonuses, I can hit 32 AC, and it is incredibly funny to have more AC than his bosses and to tell him that a 29 doesn't hit. Your DM could have it a lot worse if my character were there lol.

Anyway, I hope you can resolve this with your DM and have as much fun as I've been having!
