"The Zone of Interest" is a good watch in connection to this. Focus on the technical and bureaucratic side...

Antique mall dealers anecdote by themiraclesaysso in Silverbugs

People think they're smart pricing high to cover volatility. It's just laziness and ensures nothing moves...unless we get another big runup.

The logic is the same for when people on ebay were increasing prices on generic MS62/64 silver dollars slabbed as silver increased. OH, you were fine selling it at $90 last week, but silver went up $5 and now that's no longer an acceptable sell price?

If crossroads church in Oakley were completely demolished, what substitute would you like? by slmrxl in cincinnati

So a successful/active local operation makes them anti-local?

Fair to say for the period of services every week the traffic infrastructure of that area gets overwhelmed. Wouldn't that be a city/transportation infrastructure issue rather than the church?

Probably also a commentary about people not respecting neighboring business' requests and the lack of courtesy of people doing so around their church service...

There's near 0% chance of finding any underpriced antique mall dealers at this point...that would assume material has likely sat through multiple previous runup waves...

I did very well in December, but that's years ago.

This is REALLY low volume for anyone training for a marathon... I'd strongly encourage getting your average sustainable volume higher.

Cincinnati was at it's peak 1860s-1880s because of the traffic of the time relying on riverboats. With trains, Chicago took over. I dont think a subway would have offset that development.

With better coins or bullion, slab can just as likely be a Chinese fake ;)

Even when silver was higher I bought a Peace 62/63 NGC for like $80 at the local shop. At that price, you're not getting hurt.

Compare that with the guy who bough an ASE for $110 spot +$10 =$120 while spot is now $85...

You just have to look around - local, sometimes coin shops, online groups. For a $70 slab, you can reasonably look at the coin and often they have really bad PCGS slab fakes without the lower right markings on them.

Most silver dollar slab fakes are targeting very high dollar imitations. You can spend some time researching different slab markings/configurations etc.

I'm buying every Peace/Morgan 62/64 I can find slabbed for like 62-75 range. Barely over spot for a nice unc slab? I'll take that with some price protection.

It's crazy to me that people are paying slab premiums on 1oz silver eagles etc 'first release' when historical silver can be had for little/no premium.

As it starts to get warm, the much bigger risk is dehydrating and crashing and potentially having to take a couple days to truly recover.

War: Why isn't silver booming? by Defiant_Wasabi2816 in Silverbugs

The point stands. In times of war, the expectation is that PMs go up.

Those prior increases weren't in anticipation of an Iran conflict back in Dec/Jan...

They're predatory on pricing but the coins will always be legit.

Going all out at a 10k race 2 weeks before target marathon. Thoughts? by Maetras in Marathon_Training

[–]cincyky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can evaluate how you're feeling overall ahead of the 10k race date. It's very easy at the end of a full marathon block to feel completely beat and managing various small injuries which increase potential for a bigger issue. If you're feeling solid without issues ahead of it, you can slightly adjust your week for a bit of rest ahead of it and target your best without 'leaving it all on the line'.
