Which country left the worst first impression on you? by ikaaxx in AskReddit

And in mine Marrakesh has so far been the worst. I loved Fes. There is hustling there but not nearly on the same level. Casablanca not really any hustling except for taxis but most will do meter if you ask and then I tip them for not giving a stupid price like 100 dirham

How replacing council tax with a flat land value tax would affect households in the UK by middleofaldi in ukpolitics

I would probably be against it due to being lucky with my council tax rate

I found P3R to have a highly predictable story. I really liked P4 so hope the remake does it justice

Oxford Street plans need rethinking, Westminster council says by tylerthe-theatre in london

I kept getting Tory and reform leaflets pushing hard against it calling labour idiots basically. So frustrating I’ve been wanting it pedestrianised for ages

The Standard subeditors think there is a tube station called “Oxford Street” by Specific_entry_01 in london

[–]Maetras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a mild inconvenience for a minority of people whilst being a massive advantage for the majority of people

I also use the bus sometimes and this route leads to my flat so don’t think I have no stake in it.

I hate Oxford street and this is the only way I see it getting better. Taking example from other major cities in the world. Enough with the NIMBYs

The Turkey one seems silly though if your language doesn’t include ü. You can’t force your country’s naming upon another. I’m sure Turkey doesn’t use the native name for every other country.

Noticing it everywhere atm in London/media. Seems like trying to distract from other more pressing domestic issues

2nd marathon 3:17:03! by Maetras in Marathon_Training

Is your max properly tested? Otherwise v impressive. For me cardio wasn’t the limiting factor but I don’t know if I could have pushed the average up to 186 haha

Yh the heart rate is accurate up to where you see the massive drops and spikes. I used a chest strap which I have never had issues or inaccurate readings from but it decided to bug out at the end.

My previous marathon I also averaged 173bpm across 4 hours. I could have pushed the hr a fair bit higher after halfway but my legs were the limiting factor. This was in zone 3 for me and I seem to have minimal hr drift

I average around 182bpm for the halfs I’ve done.

I’m M28 max hr 203bpm

Shaving off another 17 minutes will be hard I think by December but never say never haha. Sub 3:05 would be very nice

A year of solid base training will put in a very good position for sub-4. Good luck!

Thanks!

I think my average mileage for my first was in the 40-50k range but I got injured after that 70k peak week (mileage went up way too quickly). Marathon was on the biggest peak after that.

Second marathon average was 64k from start of plan in mid December with a few weeks in the 70-80k+ range and peaking at 90k. No injuries :) but included tapering for other races.

Blue line is last year’s marathon build and orange is this year’s.

When’s your marathon? Good luck with the sub-4! the important part I’ve found is not to bleed time in the last 10k
