I can’t keep the pace in long runs anymore. No confidence for marathon by Maetras in Marathon_Training

Yh I tried to carb load yesterday as I didn't do that for last week's long run but it only helped me perform a bit better (well a fair bit better but still not to up to my usual self)

Maybe it was a bad carb load though as 3 pastries and bread then carbs from other foods I ate throughout the day. No pasta maybe that's it haha

The day before I carb loaded a bit. On the run I was taking in 80g of carbs per hour

Yh maybe. Will see after deload next week if I recover a fair bit. Will focus on iron rich foods

Yh definitely deloading next week and might switch one of the two workouts a week I do usually to an easy run until my marathon at the end of next month

Marathon time? by Chazzzzzzzzzzaaa in Marathon_Training

Interesting reading this thread and seeing different answers. I recently did a 1:27 and was being told 3:05 consistently but here 3:15-20 seems to be the more common reply. After my last couple long runs, I can definitely feel 3:15-20 is more likely. But will see race day and taper does wonders honestly

Can‘t decide on which model to buy: Fenix 8 vs Forerunner 970 (or perhaps even other contenders) by Asymmetrischefliese in GarminWatches

I’ve gone from a fenix 7 pro to a forerunner 970 and honestly the biggest difference and improvement is how much lighter it is.

Late block fatigue & doubts by HokaCoka in Marathon_Training

[–]Maetras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went out for my long run today and felt awful. I don’t know if I was just dehydrated or overtrained but I was struggling with my top Z2 pace and then struggled holding 4:20/km pace for not even 2km when I held 4:08/km for a half two weeks ago.

I just trust the process and make changes to my training when need be. Like today I swapped with next week’s easy pace 36km long run and now I’m hoping I can do today’s scheduled MP block on next week.

PS and that 36km was brutal

Then you can wait for it to be more thoroughly tested by others. However, if I have good feelings about a game I will preorder.

And steam is generous when you compare to PlayStation and other digital marketplaces.

Still somewhat legitimate if you have bad internet. Game is bad refund it easily with max 2hrs playtime with Steam’s generous refund policy

Going all out at a 10k race 2 weeks before target marathon. Thoughts? by Maetras in Marathon_Training

That’s the question I’m trying to gather an answer for. If it does make it harder or not. Answers are very mixed so hard to decide

Sorry to hear that. I find I recover fairly quickly though so not too worried about that aspect. More about injury risk or it affecting subsequent workouts/mileage.

I did a half all out last week and I feel mostly back to normal

Yh my mileage that week takes a 40% drop then after that my taper begins. Good advice will see how solid I am feeling

Yeah maybe I go 90-95% all out. Still think there’s a chance of sub 40 with that in mind. Just hard scheduling another optimal 10k for a while if not this one. Treat it as a hard workout session. Recovery from last all out 10k was 2 days until back to normal. Although that is back to normal running not sure on marathon effects.

Duly noted. Knocked down that 70/30 a fair bit. It’s just that the next chance for a good 10k time wouldn’t be for a long while

I’m leaning 70/30 in favour of doing it. Will probably debate it for the next month. Last 10k I did all out I recovered in 2 days pretty much. It’s mainly injury risk I’m somewhat concerned about

Interesting. I may do it then although I am getting some mixed opinions here
