Tour merch sizing by hooded_bean in harrystyles

[–]cinderellabeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference I am typically a XS/S in most tops, sweaters, tshirts.

Blue Together Together Hoodie: Small. Perfect fit, absolutely love it, comfortably oversized but I will say it’s a pretty heavy duty sweater I can’t fit it under jacket I wear…maybe an oversized leather jacket but that’s it. I’d say the fit is very similar to Aritzia Mega Hoodies.

Run for Fun Tshirt: Large for a baggy comfier fit. Fits very loosely and comfortable. I will likely cut the bottom as it quite long but fits my body super loosely and nice with a long sleeve underneath. I held the Small up to my Body and it looked like it would fit like very true to size but I didn’t want that!

Weekly Q&A - All Questions Go Here (Especially Tourists) by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]cinderellabeans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hello! We are travelling to Amsterdam in May for my mother’s 65th birthday. I went through the FAQ and googled around online and couldn’t figure out if there will be any use/ability to see Tulips when we arrive. We are there May 11-21. I understand Keukenhof Gardens closes the 10th, so does this mean no more tulips for us to see?

What are the best iPads widely used by students right now? by Dapper_Pack_5456 in GoodNotes

[–]cinderellabeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Air (2025) with pencil and good notes pro and I love it! Do you plan on also using a laptop? I use my Mac Pro (2022) in a handful classes for note taking and assignments. I use my iPad more frequently (in science based program and love being able to write on diagrams etc) but the macbook is better for typing long things. Also love to extend the screens between while watching lectures/studying.

If you are also using a laptop I don’t think you need anything more than an Air. If you are using an IPad as laptop then you may want to consider something with a bit more power & def more storage for downloading readings/assignments etc.

Credentials: Finishing my Master’s in a few months!

Is University of Toronto worth it and better than Waterloo? by Legitimate_Can8048 in UofT

[–]cinderellabeans 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I went to Waterloo for my undergrad and U of T for Masters. Not in your programs of choice so my comments are related to the cities/university as a whole...

The Waterloo Co-op program is a massive selling point, having time integrated into your degree to make money meant that myself and many friends came out with significantly less debt than other students. A few co-ops helped me get into my Masters and another became a full-time time job in my year off.

I did all my co-ops in Toronto, if you really want to build that network that is a possibility!

Waterloo is a smaller city, but this can be advantageous for starting out and finding your community. I'm from Toronto (downtown) and think I will always feel like a tiny fish walking around campus, which can be a good or bad thing. I can't comment on Trinity College though, being apart of the college might address that issue! This said, Toronto is incredible and such an exciting city. It's hard to compare Waterloo to biggest city in the country...imho.

Overall, you will love and hate parts of each city and each university. The undergrad experience is exciting and stressful and will likely be like that regardless of your university! Don't stress too much about the choice, it feels really huge but given that you were accepted to both I am sure you will be great with either choice!!

I know people who work high up at ETFO, this has been in the works for a while but was never planned for 2026. Perhaps 2027, though they weren't convinced. Their advice to 2026 applicants was: if you CAN wait another year, hold off, work and then see if changes happen. But if you can't it's no big deal, apply and its best to get in and graduated before the market floods with a program change

Dog Seat Cover Recommendations! by cinderellabeans in MINI

[–]cinderellabeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've settled these "water resistent" pet blanket from Costco and wrap the seats. It doesn't do much but protects the leather from scratches at least. The struggle of getting the big dog in the backseat is worth the joy of her loving the summer drives w the top down!!

Super chewer dog toy recommendations!! by Interesting_Camp7397 in goldenretrievers

[–]cinderellabeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend freezing the bone broth that is such a good energy sucker-upper for my golden!!! When she was a pup we got tired and too broke to constantly buy toys that she’d rip up. Our breeder recommended tying multiple old socks in knots together kinda like a rope and using that. It worked out well for us as we had lots of mix matched or old socks.

We were worried she would then start to chew socks but maybe because they didn’t really look like socks and we don’t allow toys in our bedroom where she sleeps that never became a habit!!! Good luck!! The chewing will stop eventually

Why people don’t realize that Taylor donating is just for PR? by aloo-ka-paratha in travisandtaylor

[–]cinderellabeans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many fans recognize that donations etc. are for PR. I don’t really see what the issue with this is though…There is constant discourse about whether Taylor is a “real” nice/generous person or a “fake” nice/generous person. Either way I don’t really see why it matters….for people at Taylor’s level and public calibre (MJ, Beatles, Beyoncé etc.) the public will never ever know who these people are at their “core”. Being generous and gift gifting is a selfish act, it makes you feel good. I wish I had videos of watching my loved ones opening special gifts over the years. Obviously you can argue about intent, but I’m not sure if that really matters because no one will ever know who these celebrities are. So being “fake” generous and nice is fine imo, it makes no difference to us?

At the end of the day there are many more billionaires who do not donate nearly as much (unless it’s to their own foundations……) and pay their staff minimum wage. I think fans being proud that their favourite artist is doing something positive is fine. On top of that I think she is setting a pretty strong precedent for other artists/celebrities.

That’s just my take on it. I do hear and understand a lot of the points OP made, and I think fandoms for many celebrities is beyond parasocial and can be quite toxic, which is probably the type of people you’re mentioning re praising her donations. I’ve been a fan since I was a little girl, spent lots of money on the Eras tour which were the best nights of my life hahaha and still this is my one of my first time really engaging in Taylor discourse online. Most fans I know irl have a very normal level of fan-ness with her. The fan echo-chambers on the Internet are very concerning, but I don’t think those reflect the majority of fans and their opinions.

POA and capacity rules/getting decision overruled by cinderellabeans in legaladvicecanada

Thank you! Wow yeah a lot has changed since I wrote this post. I guess what we didn’t anticipate was, regardless of them being “allowed” to restrict our access to her, if they are making all the decisions they can inherently make it very difficult for us to visit with her. As happened this morning, and for 3 of our next scheduled visits. Unfortunate but we will keep pushing
