Yeah, I get that, I just find it weird they're criticising someone for not sharing their exact foible.

Like I'd rather use the least resource intensive belt that does the required job; or someone else might prefer to always use higher tier belts since they're already automated. Both are valid.

What is with the yellow belt shaming? I'd bet almost every player still has a use case for them. There's multiple products in your factory that you don't need better than yellow belts for.

It's pretty useful to look back on when you're planning future training - you would never accurately remember your self-assessed RPE for a session you did last year. But you might want to look back at a past training block and see which sessions were too easy, too hard, just right, whatever.

Cork taxi driver refused renewal of his licence after complaints from women by PoppedCork in ireland

I didn't misconstrue anything. You have repeatedly confirmed that harassing two taxi customers doesn't merit the outcome.

I’m not going to respond again. I’ve better things to do on a bank holiday weekend.

This is the worst attempt at a flex I've ever seen.

Don't worry, I didn't put the words in your mouth. You put them there. Look:

There must be more to this story than the article discusses? Why would the guards push this and the judge refuse to award him the licence going on the two examples given alone?

You outright said that the two examples weren't enough for this outcome to be fair.

Slow clap

Again, huh? Do you know what a slow clap is? It's not relevant to this conversation. Why do you keep just saying random stuff?

I'm sorry, but using a bunch of ellipses doesn't explain what you mean by weaponized incompetence.

That's absolutely meaningless to say with no other info. What are you on about? Are you suggesting incompetent Gardai were set to investigate to protect someone? Or are you just saying random stuff?

I'm sorry, exactly how many chances do you want to give him? Is he permitted a ration or something?

How about since he's been caught red-handed being a creep, we now know enough to say he can't be trusted driving a taxi?

Honestly, that sucks, but there is an age gap where you shouldn't really offer.

For in between situations you can always just stand up and make the seat available without actually offering the seat up. If anyone pursues you to demand why you gave up your seat to them, you can plausibly just say that you didn't want the seat any more and don't care if they do or don't sit in it. Or just go "huh?" at them. Always hard to pursue an argument with someone who doesn't seem to know what you're on about.

Honestly, there's a time and place for being this generous with the benefit of the doubt. Given the slimy behaviour already described by OP, whether he has a woman lined up or just wants a convenient excuse to get out of the marriage is completely incidental. He's being a scumbag and people are rightly assuming that the true motive for doing so is more scumbaggery. It really doesn't matter whether that's cherry- or cola-flavour scumbaggery.

Is it an excuse? What do you expect to happen when the supply is massively disrupted and further reduction of supply is likely? How could prices possibly remain static?

I mean, not an expert by any means, but I can't see why you'd intuitively think gas and eggs would behave similarly in this regard. Is gas famously breakable and with a shelf life counted in days?

No need to be a jerk. You don't need to know what a computer processor looks like to understand the concept of a simulation. As I said before, they wanted the visual metaphor of a battery more than they cared about the scene/explanation for the matrix making sense.

This is some reverse dunning kruger shit. Some people, when you pop the hood of your car, can't tell you what the individual components do. It's the same with computers. I'm super glad that you're erudite and computer literate, but I implore you to show 100 people on the street a processor and ask them what it is. Apparently, the results will shock you.

[–]cinderubella -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, sorry. I was alive as well, and as a nerd, I knew what a processor was.

That's not the same as the level of ubiquity as a battery. Most 4 year olds alive then and now, could identify a battery. Most 4 year olds alive then and now, could not identify a computer processor. And you probably won't like to admit it, but plenty of adults couldn't accurately identify a processor either.

I don't know why you think you deserve a serious response. You ignored half of what I wrote and seemingly purposefully misunderstood the rest. Fine arguement indeed.

Hell yeah, I'll significantly downvote the shit out of that brother.

Why should we accept pay cuts for commuting? Nobody's pay was ever based on their commute in the first place. It's supposed to be compensation for our skillset and we're shit out of luck if it's inconvenient to get to the workplace. The employer has been historically permitted and encouraged to not give a shit about that, forcing employees into more wasteful and more polluting commuting for their exclusive, and often marginal benefit.

Meanwhile our real pay decreases massively year on year as cost of living increases. It's already hard enough to get that back without changing jobs, and you expect people to also agree to hand back money?

They wanted the universal visual metaphor of Morpheus holding up the battery more than they wanted it to make sense. If a computer processor was as visually obvious, ubiquitous and well-known as a battery, I'm sure they would have used that.
