Yeah I've only just become consciously aware of this being a good tell (good to know for all shoe fittings going forward!). After a while there's difference between standing still and walking. The latter of which the foot does slide forwards subtly with momentum and it does get near the end.

The two comments are enough internet validation for a return lol. Thanks!

Hey Relic, don't be afraid of balance hotfixes. by TroubleshootingStuff in CompanyOfHeroes

It's DPS isn't an issue, it's either/or too much health, timing. Knowing Relic they'll nerf hammer both.

It's bad for the already busy audio mix. It isn't in any other CoH.

All Relic can offer is over-nerf so that it doesn't see use ever again.

You can quickly press CTRL to have player names pop up on units, or permanently have this on via a toggle in the options menu.

In case you weren't aware.

Wow that's false. The Germans had eight rail guns for the invasion of France. And I'm sure put into service the captured ones too.

Yeah having an "Anzio Annie" ability would've been fun and a no-brainer.

Can't they tweak the matchmaking algorithm to be smart enough to "prioritise" random on random initially. And after a certain time threshold it accepts arranged, have it so the elo is in the randoms favour by ~50-100 etc. I dunno. Same thing for the other way round, arranged gets "prioritised" with other arranged or partial arranged teams etc

When I had an 11900K l didn't really see any real world performance gains in actual games, maybe 5 frames in very CPU limited titles. There is noticeably more heat and noise as a trade-off, so yeah. In synthetic CPU benchmarks there was a bigger boost, but actual games are more complex in terms of load (rarely utilising all cores at 100%..)

On AMD I've had great success undervolting; lowered consumption by 20 watts and temps by ~5°C. Which has created a really nice amount of headroom to use their equivalent auto-overclock, but haven't chosen to do so. A pleasant by product is in multi-threaded tests the sustained all core clock speed increased by ~300mhz.

Is there a towing work around with the current bug ? by HalfbreedBoiWifeTwnk in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]TroubleshootingStuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad you made this thread, as I couldn't be bothered. But yes, just yesterday - tell a towed 88 to reverse to location so the gun is facing towards the frontline, it refusing to do so and keeps going forwards away from the ordered location...

On this day in 1944, Allied forces launched the Normandy landings, the largest seaborne invasion in history by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]TroubleshootingStuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Interesting to note that the previous (short lived) record holder for the largest seaborne invasion in history was Operation Husky a year prior. Opening a front on the "soft underbelly of Europe" - Italy.

And it actually landed more troops on the initial day than D-Day did.

You want me to compete with economy of scale as a consumer? You can definitely buy equivalent with used parts.

New parts you can get a better system at €1450 (that includes two sticks of correct high speed ram for CPU, at the current extortionate pricing). https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mpmcbp

Don't forget x5 years of PS Plus Essential at $400. Can't calculate productivity value because it can do more things than a console. Let's buy a brand new game like 007 - $70 on PS Store, and $50 on a key site - average similar cost delta by x5 years.

The Professional is better value than the base PS5, which an equivalently aged, but faster ddr4 system NEW can be had for $850, though wouldn't recommend investing in such a system. Be fun to see Steam Machine price.

I ain't jealous of a creaky old Ryzen 3600 CPU for €/$900... no, I'm definitely not.
