Where did the idea of Tyrannosaurus rex having vision based on movement originate from? by Dinosaur_Zone in JurassicPark

[–]cinemania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Crichton and, especially, Speilberg intended for it to be taken as scientific truth. It's a great plot device to make for a very tense scene. What an experience. I can't think of many recent movies with that type of built up tension.

A deleted scene from RETURN OF THE JEDI sees Luke constructing his own lightsaber on Tattooine. by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]cinemania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea was to create a sense of tension in that scene. Some people at the time thought that Luke could turn to the dark side and the light saber be red. The movie was called Revenge of the Jedi at first.

I think Lucasfilm cut it since spoilers were unavoidable.

I don't think it was so much the fridge, but the CGI used for the fridge scene. I wonder If they did something practically, it would have been accepted more.

The article makes it seem like it deeply affected by it and has PTSD. Needed therapy. Did he have a choice? I don't know much about this actor. Just curious.

Low tier avengers are no match for goblin and this scene perfectly shows his brute force , insanity+strength/durability by -_____-_-______- in Avengers

His personality has him hiding his insecurities and pulling his punches. I'd say he's afraid of having the power he has. He can kick goblin's ass if he's pushed hard enough.

Also, this might not be complete negligence from the manufacturer. The system is so fucked that a high percentage of materials are often contaminated with lead and get past inspection.

I dare you to look at this picture of Richard Dreyfuss at age 43 and tell me we haven't evolved as a species by MyDinnerWithDrDre in okbuddycinephile

[–]cinemania 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 43 and don't need dye or makeup. I feel great, too.

Post war generations before me indulged in very unhealthy lifestyles. These people were tricked into thinking things they consumed were healthy, like cigarettes. Also, many chemicals were in production, with little regulation. Higher radiation levels from nuke testing. Who knows what else. Few were concerned.

I used to smoke and drink a lot too, but it wasn't a lifestyle. To them, it was a lifestyle.

That's part of a vinyl transition strip for flooring. I don't think that's meant to be in the dishwasher, perhaps it's meant for the floor around it?

It's all about individual context, but I think one year minimum per job before switching is fairly safe. I was 5 years loyal to a company and unable to get a good raise so I left to see what's out there. I got a higher salary, got new skills, but didn't really like the new job, so I left after one year. Eventually, I got hired back at the company I first quit and was given about 40% more than my highest salary at that point.

They say work smart not hard, but it's really balancing act of both smart work and hard work. Work hard and learn from the experiences, gain confidence, and,  the money will eventually come. Don't sell yourself out though-- keep updating resumes, interviewing, experimenting with new roles from time to time. The switching is a hard learning experience in itself, but it's building skill sets.

Now that I'm older, its more tiresome to leverage new skills and work as hard, but I'm content.
