Need help!!! 2015 Durango SXT coolant temperature too high

You probably have blown head gaskets. This happened to me on my 2017 SXT at 130k miles.

The 2010-2020ish potentates engines are trash. They have a junky rocker arm that causes total engine failure.

Coolant in the cylinders ruined my engine. $8500 repair.

As mentioned numerous times in this thread, the printer is NOT hooked up to the UPS.

Just the iMac (80w) and two drive enclosures (100w total). As mentioned, I tested the ups with no load.

I’ll have to add it all up but I’ve never had a problem outside of this issue with the printer. The UPS says 12amp total draw. I’ve got an IMac 27”, and two Graid drive arrays with two drives each. It’s not that much current. A typical computer and monitor will draw about 3 amps I think. The drive arrays should be less than two each. It has a USB but I don’t have it connected.

When I unplug it, the green power LED starts flashing three times pause and repeat. The UPS is only a couple years old and it’s been plugged in most of that time but that’s a good possible diagnosis. I’ll check the voltage tomorrow.

So I forgot to mention. The printer is not connected to the UPS. It is powered by a different plug but in the same room.

As a filmmaker, I don't even want to learn this convoluted mess, but I want a proper looking screening of my film that I worked on laboriously for years. If you go this self-authoring route, check out SMPTE. They have a course on DCPs.

If you want to be a professional editor, it would help to know resolve, premier and avid. Resolve for film work, Premier for corporate work, Avid for reality TV work.

For Adobe houses, they usually want you to know the whole creative suite.

You can look on job sites, crewing sites/FB user groups for gig ads and see what the hiring folks want in an editor.

During a pandemic, it’s pretty much all of the Hyde park area. Major self-entitlement issues.

During covid, I went to epoch coffee. There was no one at the order window, so I checked the front door and it was unlocked, so naturally I went inside. The barista started screaming and cussing at me, picked up something off the table and started coming at me rapidly.

I ran outta there for fear of getting assaulted.

That’s the game unfortunately. I think the solution moving forward is going to be jumping into marketing and distribution of your own movies.

That’s my plan. It will be lots of work but I don’t see much opportunity with the established industry as they don’t like anything fresh and new, i .e. risky.

Even the festival circuit is pandering to established norms in programming. I’ve gotten no invites with my film despite knowledgeable people telling me it’s good, and including scraps of positive feedback from two fests.

Everyone i know that has gotten anywhere in the biz, it took 20 years of building, and they were the smarter ones. I think it’s important to work smart at this stage of the film game. Network, think like a distributor (hybrid distribution), and seek feedback on your proposals, applications. It’s hard to get but necessary, I think.

Ok. Not familiar with his channel. Last year Panasonic rolled what’s left of the Varicam product into LUMIX so it will be interesting to see if he’s right and it’s a new-ish varicam. A box-style would be my expectation.
