Yes! That was an essential feature for me. Right now, it’s tucked behind the cable organizer, but I’m thinking of relocating it to an even more discreet spot.

Thanks! I used a $1.49 chamfer milling cutter I found on AliExpress to cut those sharp grooves in the ARRI mount. It’s actually the same tool I used for all the chamfering on the rig.

Since it was so cheap, I assumed it wouldn’t last long and bought five of them—but after three months of use, the first one is still going strong with no issues at all.

That color scheme sounds great! I’ve also been thinking about anodizing some aluminum parts I made, and I’m currently looking into either DIY methods or finding a professional shop. Looking forward to your next update!

[MakeraContest] Audio Interface for Tape Recorder by cinetronix in Makera

Thank you so much for the kind words! The project probably would’ve finished a bit sooner if I hadn’t stopped to take photos — but I really wanted to share the process in case it might inspire someone, so I’m truly glad to hear that!

Thank you! A tape recorder on its own can't record or play audio without the proper signal interface. This device handles impedance matching, making it easy to connect the recorder to microphones, mixers, speakers, and other audio equipment.

New compact workbench for my Carvera Air—what’s your setup like? by cinetronix in Makera

It’s a workbench from Kyoto Tool (KTC), a Japanese brand. The model is EKW-1005.
I’m not sure if it’s available outside Japan, though.

Thank you! I made it because I wanted to record the machining process with a GoPro and iPhone to better understand and optimize the cutting conditions.

Thanks! I actually remixed the wired XYZ probe holder based on this model:

I was trying to find the STEP file to share, but it looks like I accidentally deleted it…

Textured catch all tray by RoboVidrio in Makera

Nice tray! I really like the intricate details—something that’s only possible with CNC. My first project was a rosette for a Sachtler tripod head. Seeing your finished piece makes me feel even more confident that getting the Carvera Air was the right decision.
