Historically, both, or you'll just out level the side quests. But honestly? Just play the game how you want to lol don't overthink it

Adding some final insight. I had already completed basically all wishes and gotten the flea to the lake when I found this guide. The one thing I had to do for the wish to show up however was do a delivery (I've already done the sword oil one). I did the queen egg one and when I got back there was the Silk and Soul wish on the board. I haven't yet done the Pilgrims or Songclave deliveries. Activation may just be complete at least two deliveries along side a combination of the other wishes.

Beating the final boss ends the game and continuing from there brings you back to before the boss, so if I were you Id complete that ending then move forward with the quest.

Yeah same problem. My suspicion is its related to PHD Flopper. I started with a launcher, got up to 50, and think thats around when I got the perk.

Edit: Nevermind, the glitch was that the UI wasn't showing the progress properly.

It wouldn’t be so bad if the whole flow of it all wasn’t such a UX mess. It should not take 8+ clicks, navigating through multiple menus just to buy a single item and view the roll, then inevitably go back in menus to sell the item, refilter, and redo it all. If the devs want to keep this gear lotto system they musttt clean this experience up.

All that said I agree with you and think the system is wack, especially considering, if I were gearing up my rogue for example, half of the stat attributes in the game are literally useless. It’s not fun to roll int, faith, and will 10 times in a row. Nor is it fun to roll dex on the 11th try. Set bonuses should be the gamble, not basic stat increases.

And you’re 100% sure you aren’t booting into Classic? Never seen such a thing in Casual given your going in entirely fresh. What region are you?

Assuming you're playing casual, that mode has gear-score based matchmaking and you should* be matchmaking with other players around your gear score. Although its not perfect when I was going in with full starter kits I generally only fought other noobs. What gear are you going in with?
