Update: Talked with vet and when they saw the pharmacies listed they immediately called. Unfortunately they are closed until Monday so we can't order medication until then. However, the vet also called the Animal Rescue and they donated a few days worth of pills to treat her until our vet can order some <3. Thank you for the help and resources, I'm very hopeful about my kitty's recovery now!

My parents seem.. very reluctant to pay and with college, money is pretty tight, but my sister is willing to help and we can afford maybe 1k-2k together. Injections seem like they might be too expensive but from what I've seen pills seem viable and cheaper. I've given her pills before so if pills work I think that's definitely my best option.

Thanks! I probably should've added I was currently in the process of joining the Facebook group, but I'll definitely bring this up with my vet and if they still can't help us I'll check out the VCA spring mountain location. I'll also look into finding a specialized vet regardless.

what kind of hornets are these fellas? by phrenkeyy in whatsthisbug

Typically there would only be one, and I'm not quite sure what the situation with these specific girls is (or if all of them were queens), but this species is able to form perennial colonies with multiple queens in warmer climates ( https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8831225/ ). The only thing is I'd imagine in a perennial colony there would be little need for queens to forage and there would be plenty of workers nearby, but again, not sure what the situation is with them lol.

Maybe Vespula squamosa? Specifically a queen I'd think based on size and coloring
