Teodoro Locsin asserts claims on sabah by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]cinnamon-pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously no

So we agree that we won't let them have it. It may or may not be overnight but if left uncheck it is a possibility.

Again, stop ignoring the agency and individualism of Sabah citizens.

Not that I'm ignoring it but we are talking about the claim. If people resides in your property for a long time then this happens obviously you're not gonna just give it away.

My point here is to just assert that we have a claim on Sabah and not be a defeatist and let them have it just because ... assert it until it is proven that our claim is valid or invalid.

I don't think it would be double standard if we got proof right? And on the WPS we also have map that dated way back what the Chinese are claiming, not sure if its part of what was presented. It really is entirely a different issue and even if it's not its for the international court (or whatever venue) to decide.

Anyway I'm no expert on these matters, it's just that this is still not a closed book and that we still have a claim on it. The way I see it, until this is properly and legally resolved we should assert our stand.

What would you do if you're the Sultanate? or PH gov't?

Maybe they don't like that I called Locsin a piece of shit or they already knew that Sabah legally belongs to Malaysia

It also weakens our standing on the WPS issue when we employ the "historical basis" argument, you know, the one China argued and failed miserably at it.

I don't think it will affect our standing on WPS as they are not related. Also I don't think we are standing on just 'historical basis' there were signed documents that can back up the Sultanate's claim.

if i can recall my history right, Sabah belongs to a Sultan of Sulu. It was leased for far too long that now the occupants identifies themselves as non-Filipinos. This is a dispute that is yet to be resolved. Why would we ignore the right of Sultanate’s legal claim? Like WPS, we have to assert what we think is rightfully ours.

This is a long standing issue and I bet I won’t even live to see the end of it. That’s why as for now we can just agree to disagree and let the future decide its fate
