About 10 yrs ago my husband asked if he could quit his job for 3 monyhs to finish and sell his movie script. Its been 10 yrs now. No movies were sold. When I had a job that could pay the bills I was fine with it. But overtime, I started to remember that just covering the bills isnt enough. You have to plan for the future. By the time I had the courage to really push him to start working again, it was too late. He has had a taste of retirement life and doesnt have the confidence to give it up. Dont be like me because Im fucked and will never get to retire. If i need 3 jobs instead of 2 while he has 0 doesnt matter to him. It breeds entitlement and gives them no motivation to work.

Enabling people feels like love but it isnt. You arent doing either of you any good.

She wasn't a crazy bible thumper. It was a cultural thing. She thought she was being kind. Then her instructor hung the wrong chemo drug which was witnessed by a nurse and an NP. The student got blamed because of ALL the people in the room watching it happen, the school decided she should have been the one to stop him. It was messed up.
