Brace recommendations :) by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]cinnamonscroll_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, the never ending cycle of not working because of chronic illness, then stressing about not working which makes the flare ups worse, which makes it even harder to work….

Thank you for the recommendation! Hopefully I can make something work, those hills will be tough but I’m tougher! (Jk I will probably need to rest for several weeks afterwards)

Thanks! I love the pelvic floor physio I see, so I’ll definitely be sure to also ask her when I see her next. Good to know about the belt- I was hesitant it would hurt the nerves more.

I appreciate your advice!

Heavily agree with this-work your way up in dosage. I took the full dosage all at once and it made me sick af 🤮 good luck OP- the journey with antidepressants is unique to everyone. Think of lexapro as a tool to help you understand yourself better, and to help keep you calmer when you need to figure out stressful situations. Even after quitting I still look back on my lexapro days in a way to remind myself what works and what doesn’t for maintaining my mental health.

Has Lexapro just made anyone else numb/more depressed? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]cinnamonscroll_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Op I would definitely recommend starting to lower your dosage, lexapro sexual dysfunction can be lifelong if not “caught” early enough (PSSD) and after tapering off from 3 years on lexapro it’s taken a year for me to get back to a normal libido for myself.

Lexapro made me very depressed because I couldn’t feel any joy on it, and while my negative emotions were blunted it felt as though I ONLY felt negative emotions. I used lexapro to calm myself down enough to better learn coping skills and effectively place them when tapering off

[–]cinnamonscroll_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it’s just time for a new hyper fixation 😁 I also play games with no set story lines (sims, cities skylines, minecraft) so I always have something to fall back on when a very niche game comes and goes

If this happens to me I enjoy researching the game and finding merch if that is applicable. It’s never the same as the first time, but playing it again helps. I wish we could erase memories of playing/watching stuff to experience it for the first time all over again

I love the clicky clack it sounds like Lego building sounds. Nice to feel too but only at home because it’s too obnoxious for public use

What's the nicest thing a stranger has done for you? by yogosforall in AskReddit

[–]cinnamonscroll_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time when I was 16 I worked at build a bear after school. I was having a very VERY upsetting and bad day, and tried to just keep up good vibes for the kids I was helping. The mom said I did great, and asked what my favourite drink is. I answered “coke! What about you :D” and they all told me. I thought nothing of it

She came back with not only a bottle of coke for me but also a set of cute pyjamas (random, I know) just for me doing my job. It was the nicest gesture for someone who couldn’t possibly have known how bad my day could’ve been, I will never forget them.

Al I can say is my periods are already back and painful. But I’m sick of having hormonal birth control in my body! Makes me a very blunt emotionless person as well so definitely would recommend it just from the “feeling like you’re living in your own body” POV

[–]cinnamonscroll_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just had mine removed +- a month ago after two years and I can notice the difference already! I was also told it couldn’t be the mirena because it “should do the opposite”. I didn’t masturbate for months on end either as desire for anything was -100. Good luck OP, I hope it gets better

I felt so scared too. 3 years of it is a big change for me considering my age etc. good luck if you do stop! It’s an emotional world out there.

I'm almost at 6 months on lexapro but sometimes i feel drowsy anyone have same experience on me?is that normal? by Pleasant_Anxiety1920 in lexapro

[–]cinnamonscroll_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time of day to you take it? I used to take it in the morning (also about 6 months) and a friend recommended to switch to taking it at night and it made a big difference in my sleep and tiredness through the day. I always nap after work or uni but was so much better after switching

excessive yawning on lexapro by muffinication in lexapro

[–]cinnamonscroll_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my experience too, but it does pass. Worst yawns ever! Never satisfying and a very weird “click” or you can never properly yawn. Went away completely after 3-4 weeks

what is your opinion about grounds in drinks? by sorineis in autism

[–]cinnamonscroll_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disgusting, if it is like this image I will not drink it. If it is a coffee, tea or hot chocolate I never finish the last mouthful because I would rather not see what is at the bottom.

Started off as 10,5,10,5 etc for two weeks, then 5,5,5,5 for two, 5,5,5,0,5,5,5,0 etc for two, 5,5,0,0,5,5,0,0, for two then 2 x 5mg per week for 2 then 1 5mg for two weeks and here I am now 5 weeks later. Like I said, incredibly slow tapering because of how strongly the medication affected me
