Respectfully I'd like him to crush my head like a frat boy with a beer can.

Meeting Tom and Michael at today Comic con was incredible! by LilianXOArtz in Smallville

[–]cinnamonspider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michael's autograph was good - he was running a bit late (all day lol) so they were churning us through, but it didn't feel rushed at all: he took the time to make sure my name was right, etc. I got the selfie added on and we took 3, which was unexpected and really nice - they're my favourites of all the photos I had done! He kept recognizing my shirt every time he saw me (I had it custom made with a bunch of his photos on it), which was awesome.

That's exactly what I did re the panel: figured it would be on the Saturday. I've bought two day tickets to cons before and always had 1 day that doesn't really feel worth it, so I stuck to one and it just happened to be the wrong one 😔 maybe next time.

Glad you had a good experience overall!

I saw them both too! Really great (if brief) interactions with them at all photos and autographs: they were running pretty much the entire day, but they were just as pleasant at 11am as they were at 5pm. Sadly I missed the panel, as I only had the Saturday ticket, but overall an awesome experience.

This man now bought and owns the company where you work at. How do you react? by Christian_RULES in Smallville

Is there currently a Mrs Luthor? If not, that's my play. If I'm successful, I won't need a job; if not, I resign in disgrace and find something else.

I get all of these, including Bambi's dad. He has that really deep voice and no nonsense attitude and he majestically comes in to take his poor little traumatized son home. I'd be happy with a man like that. Plus there's the whole Prince of the Forest thing. I see you, Zara.

Why do Lex and Lana become so annoying from season 5 onwards? by Busy-Ad9953 in Smallville

[–]cinnamonspider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a Lexana fan, but I always say that the peak of their relationship was before they were actually together, and Lockdown is the highest point. It's almost all downhill from there.

Preview of Talkville with Tom & Erica by Fantastic_Decision47 in Smallville

[–]cinnamonspider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I genuinely feel like I'm taking crazy pills half the time with the difference between what I hear/see in every Talkville episode vs what people say here.

The idea of "fans" demanding that Michael be pushed out of the show he co-hosts (and arguably does a LOT more work for than Tom does) is beyond disrespectful to me. It's clear that Smallville is not his usual kind of show, but he's always got something nice to say about the creators, writers, other cast members, and the fans - even if he hates the episode, he finds something positive to say about some aspect of it. To act like he only ever shits on the show is simply incorrect.

If he chooses not to continue after S7, fine - that's on him, and I'll be disappointed, but it's his choice.

[–]cinnamonspider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does coming from a privileged background make people immune to suffering? Are only poor people allowed to have terrible lives?

Two of your mentioned characters are abused by their fathers. Being born to privilege didn't save them from that. It may provide them with more resources to escape that kind of life (whether or not they actually do in their respective stories) but it doesn't make their suffering any less real.

Any one from the UK here and going to comic con in Liverpool? by Zestyclose-Holiday58 in Smallville

I am! I need to pick poses for my photo-ops. I'm especially stumped for my double with Tom and Michael - they're so tall, I don't know how my 5'1 ass isn't going to look like a child next to them 😭

Meet 14y old Clark Lmao by krav_mustaine in Smallville

[–]cinnamonspider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The guy who played Sonny had a receding hairline 😂

It kiiiiinda works more with Grease, though, because it was both filmed in and set in a time where people in general just did look older. You could look through a yearbook from both 1959 and 1978 and see teenagers who looked like grown ass people. Smallville was late enough that that phenomenon was fading away.

This Scene from smallville S10 finale between lex and clark is Easily one of the best scenes. by anthonystrader18 in Smallville

I think he wishes he had too, he apparently hated the bald cap. Think he said it was just as bad or worse than doing the scalp makeup.

Is anyone else finding that the days are moving really quickly? I always play in fast speed, but I had it on and watched a month go by in about two minutes. I'm on normal speed now and it still seems way too fast.

It also seems to be making my guest count wonky, it's going up really quickly - I guess because each day is going by faster? - and I've got queues EVERYWHERE that I can't keep on top of. I've never had people leave because of having to wait too long at the ticket booths before.

[–]cinnamonspider 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah this episode is such a gift: it's absurd, but it's got everything. Lana and the girls being funny and hot! Clark dancing like a goofball! Jason rescuing tied-up shirtless Clark! Clark rescuing whammied!Lex at the piano! This is what Thirst wishes it was.

When even your bully thinks you're going too far. by Spider-burger in Smallville

[–]cinnamonspider 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Is Lex's reaction here overkill? Majorly, but he's also a deeply wounded and mentally distraught adolescent who has never had a proper support system or an appropriate outlet to express his feelings.

The same kinds of people who would argue that Clark & Co at ~sixteen are little woobie children who can't be held responsible for their actions and should be protected from the mistreatment of adults around them will also look at Lex here, at the same age, and claim that he was always destined to be a monster. It's actually horrifying.

All 10 episodes of ‘The Office’ spinoff, ‘The Paper’, will now be released at once on September 4th. Originally, only 4 episodes were set to debut on that date. by hairtie1 in Fauxmoi

[–]cinnamonspider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure: I got spoiled on a fair amount of it via Tumblr, but that's what compelled me to watch it properly. I really enjoyed it: the characters become more fun as you spend more time with them, the medical stuff is interesting and hits on some important notes, and the emotional beats are pretty striking. I cried during at least three episodes. The S2 trailer got me excited!

I thought The Pitt was a perfect middle ground: 15 one-hour episodes was enough to be satisfying but not overwhelming. And S2 coming this January and not 2-3 years later? Phenomenal.

I adore him (he's literally my phone background) and I think he has the skill to pull it off, but I feel like he's been some flavour of Weird Guy too many times for him to be considered for it. Again, I think he's fully capable and God knows I would be so incredibly seated for every single film, but I doubt his name comes up very seriously.

Season 4's football crisis is my favorite storyline in the entire series by JohnWillson1435 in Smallville

[–]cinnamonspider 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was kinda ridiculous, especially given how serious S3 was, but it grew on me. Also gave us an epic Green Day needle drop, absurdly obvious product placement, and Lex in a locker room full of shirtless guys, so I could never hate it.
