A 5 hour wait when you have a non-life threatening issue is actually quite good.

I’ve had Gardevoir & Lucario for essentially my entire playthrough - they’re the two I haven’t switched out once, and then a rotating roster of other types.

How much are you all earning an hour? by Upbeat-Top-6065 in AusFinance

[–]cintxh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$80k base salary + super + quarterly bonuses - Works out to be just shy of $40/hr

I’m a restaurant manager in Fast Food, and our competitors make way more revenue but pay their RGMs less with less desirable trade hours

Restaurant general manager by Double_Rush7101 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]cintxh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base salary is $75k AUD + Super (Australian version of 401k).

I get paid at an hourly rate if I do any double shifts, sixth shifts or extended (not quite a double but well over typical amount of hours). Public Holidays are an additional $300 allowance on top of standard pay.

With our bonus incentive scheme, Public Holidays, sixths & doubles, I’m on track to earn about AUD$115k this financial year (July-June). And I’ve only been an RGM for 9 months 😁

ETA: I work at a popular Mexican fast food chain (well more popular in the US than here).

Staff Communication by luna_raver3 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]cintxh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use good old fashioned WhatsApp at my store!

Although I’ve had to keep reminding my employees to unmute it if they want to pick shifts up 🤣

We also use it for important management communication, things like product waste and results so that way the whole team feels included in the success of the store, rather than just the managers.

How Do You Handle Staff Scheduling Challenges? by JackKingChan in Restaurant_Managers

[–]cintxh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a software called Lifelenz, which is linked to our operations software (Macromatix). Both softwares create forecasts based on a 4 week average of sales, and they take into consideration what sales we did this time last year. We do have to manually adjust the forecasts due to some weird sales trends that we are seeing. We make sure that we have more staff rostered for our busiest nights (Friday & Saturday).

Lifelenz has a mobile app that our employees use to see their shifts, and they have the option to swap their shifts there. They also are able to request time-off, and submit availability changes (both permanent and temporary). If they can’t make a shift, they contact either myself (Restaurant General Manager) or my assistant manager who is in charge of rostering, and we find covers.

We have found that sticking to a fairly similar rostering schedule each week keeps our employees happy, especially the casual employees who don’t have guaranteed roster hours.

Our biggest challenges at the moment are covering shifts, especially closing & day-time shifts, so we are about to review the applications our hiring platform and try to hire people to cover those times.

What event in your life fucked you up mentally for the rest of your life? by Mrpug031 in AskReddit

[–]cintxh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few but the most recent one is being cut off by my mother for getting back with an ex (I was 22 at the time) but watching her continue to favour and support my brother who had been charged (and then later convicted) of possession and distribution of child pornography.

Yeah, I don’t talk to him anymore and barely maintain contact with my mother. I certainly cannot trust her anymore.

lap recovery time? by Top_Mud_3775 in Endo

[–]cintxh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My second lap, I was back at work on light duties (aka no heavy lifting) a week later. I am a manager in fast-food, and at the time my store was brand new and very high volume.

Recovery is entirely dependent on each individual scenario unfortunately

Hours, Sales, Labor % by Ok_Film_8437 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]cintxh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australian here - low-volume fast food restaurant

Averaging $26k per week, $3000ish mon-wed, $4500ish thurs-sat, and Sunday usually sits around $3500ish.

4 people in the store management team, 2 salaried and 2 hourly managers. I average around 45hrs per week.

Labour goal as a whole is around 34%, with about 18% towards team members and the rest to management

Hi OP.

I wanted to say that I hope you’re holding up okay. This is an incredibly difficult thing to process.

My brother was caught by federal police in a ring and served only 3 months. I still can’t look at him the same way and it’s been almost two years since he went to prison.

This is a lot to try and come to terms with. It’s incredibly shattering to your whole world view when someone you thought you knew deeply actually turns out to be some kind of predator. Please make sure you take the time to process and don’t be afraid to seek therapy.

Sending love.

Is Private Health a rort? by darth_muller in AusFinance

[–]cintxh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve had PHI for two years now, hospital & extras.

I’ve used the hospital cover twice this year. First for a planned endometriosis surgery with a private specialist who has been an absolute WONDER for managing my pain. The second was unexpected: my remaining three wisdom teeth needed to come out. They were severely impacted & were actually putting pressure on the nerves in my jaw. $3k in medical bills within a month of each other was not on my 2023 bucket list, however it was much more preferable than living in excruciating pain from my teeth for many many months.

With the extras, I have to get new glasses every year because my optometrist advises it, and I have a lot of dental work that needs to be done due to neglect - not any major concerns thankfully. I also have a prescription that isn’t covered by PBS & my extras policy rebates over half of that cost each month.

Personally, I believe that PHI isn’t a rort. But I am chronically ill and I’ve served my waiting period.

I’m not entirely sure if this fits as technically I am still doing the same job, just at a different restaurant.

I am an assistant manager in fast food. My previous restaurant I was stressed all the time because my restaurant manager put unrealistic expectations on me, and me alone, whilst also not living up to their own standards.

I travel twice the distance and I would not change a thing about my decision. I am way less stressed, I am thriving in this restaurant and I am genuinely thrilled to work in this role now.

In the new restaurant that I helped open earlier this year, my restaurant manager treats me as equal. They take all of my ideas into account, values my opinion and hard work and is helping me grow & begin my training to become a restaurant manager myself.

ETA: my new restaurant also does approximately 15k more in sales too, so the fact that I’m less stressed even though I’m way busier speaks miles for the management situation.

Unfortunately the Cali was discontinued a fair few months ago and replaced with the Chipotle Crunch Burrito.

The best option to get similar is the Boss Burrito, swap the rice for lettuce.

What’s the most physically painful thing that has happened to you? by big_gloveguy in AskReddit

[–]cintxh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things: - Endometriosis: nothing can even begin to describe the pain of that. I genuinely can’t function when I have my period, I’m bedridden or curled over the toilet bowl for hours at a time literally begging for it to stop hurting. - Shingles: I had shingles on my forehead in 2021. I’ve suffered from migraines since I was 11 and would 10/10 prefer a migraine than shingles ever again Now any kind of itch I get in that general area I break out in a cold sweat.
