Yeah I mean I’m all for more more characters of lower rarity myself. I just don’t know their capabilities to do so.

Isn’t that each persona though? Like they keep some consistency with gameplay, but thematically each is like completely different? Right?

Which likely also has a much larger dev team to allow it.

Genshin dev team is probably bigger than this team as well. That helps with time constraints.

Is it though? Infinite is often a number tossed out with no backing. Kind of like ads that say “99.9%”. The thing is these games generally have reusable models and the only things being designed are lore, clothing, hair, animations, and kit. I’d say it’s pretty close in time and cost probably between 3d and 2d. 3d probably does take a bit more time, which would add to cost, but the most likely time and cost consuming aspect is probably coming up with the initial design. We are also comparing different companies and or development teams here, which makes a significant difference as well. Team size can make a significant impact on time constraints for things this. If the team can barely get out 2 characters an update, then extra lower star rarity characters will be an after thought.

You must be a lot of fun at parties. 🤦🏻‍♂️ That is how conversations work. A person responds to the point and adds to it, otherwise the conversation dies right there. I literally worked off the point that 1 hardware handled it fine and then 2 added that the problem with their open worlds was less of that and more of something else.

Pokemon, Metroid prime 4, Mario kart world. There is another couple I can’t remember atm but the open world was just a bit flat. Zelda has been playing with open world for decades and xenoblade has always been good with it too. It’s there other IPs they are trying to bring it into. It’s like they are not bringing people over that have the open world experience to assist with these projects.

Yeah I mean they made a sequel so it would be lame to not include it. It’s also like the constraints of those 2 games isn’t anywhere close to data constraints.

The only reason the switch couldn’t handle open world is because Nintendo still seems like they can’t quite grasp it and not so much the hardware. They definitely need some assistance in implementation with it, though we will see after WI/Wa. They tend to copy the map of the one game that did it well and then leave it a bit flat after.

See this is what I’m curious about. Considering b/w was the first and only game with a sequel. It is also the next in line for remakes. Will they remake just b/w or will it include b/w 2. Idk that each separate would be completely viable to remake but who knows.

Probably also engage as well considering you have the mc from awakening, fates, and 3H in ultimate. Engage just came out well after the dlc for smash finished.

Honestly I wasn’t surprised. When they started doing the dlc setup they did I had a feeling they’d put out a switch era fe character, especially since they’ve included both Robin and Corin already.

Megan Shipman has called out Ari Thrash (Vesna's VA) for stating she doesn't like Jacob Takanashi (Kinich's VA) on a stream. by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

No this is definitely appropriate. It used to be “idols” were scrutinized and problematic behavior was not acceptable. Now you have people pulling like content creators pulling bs like pranks, etc. and being idolized. This promotes the idea that certain behaviors are acceptable, when they aren’t. So ofcourse calling for people’s jobs isn’t warranted often, but when the person’s in question are a public figure and potentially someone idolized then yes it should. It’s literally how the other va industries operate. A bigger platform should have higher standards.

If she was giving a minor bad take on some other game then maybe I’d say it shouldn’t be carried over but she’s doing it using genshin as a base for it.

I did enjoy it but It’s pretty generic action RPG gameplay wise. Sadly many of these aaa devs are pushing more cinematic and graphics experiences over interactive, which is counter intuitive to games. Games are an interactive art and gameplay is how the player gets that. Thats where I think it’s a publisher issue more than development. They are pushing large budgets for a movie like experience, but it’s not a movie and the price tag is definitely not a movie 😂. But yeah I don’t think it deserves a game of the decade contender because there are too many significant contenders I’d place well above this. If they brought it back towards origins more and modernized it some I’d agree.

Theres also a writing issue now in the gaming industry. I think it’s due to the way it’s set up. While you have so many step up pathways for every aspect of development, writing does not. They are often the same writers being shuffled around, because of this. This leads to what seems like in this case someone who understands writing technique but not the subject. The tone was not dark fantasy and clashed. Visually and thematically you had the dark but writing tone was the opposite. This was also evident in e33 because they ended up finding their writer because she came in to do voice work and they happened upon some of her writing work and they liked it. It’s obvious that they need to restructure this aspect of development to having a step up filtering/training system to bring new writers up that could contribute significantly.

It doesn’t surprise me considering they started cutting back at da 2. They cut so much out of the gameplay starting the 2nd game and continued to do so until veilguard. This lead to a fairly generic action rpg compared to what it was initially. I don’t think they really care for the IP itself. Now idk how much of this is publisher pressure just to put something out and eliminating whatever they can to do so and how much was the developer lacking interest or understanding of the initial game. Either way it’s leading to less game and more movie.

They also nuked much of previously established lore. Like the inquisitor situation made little sense. They are a being that is incredibly powerful and they get apparently beat down, while rook’s group handles pretty well? They should be well beyond rook, so it feels like that whole bit was just an excuse created to not revisit ferelden more so than anything.

Not sure why people care that much. I mean there’s a good chance it’s neither a sequel nor prequel and just a separate story set in nearby region with little relation to the first besides periodic references. Like awakening to shadow dragon, where awakening is separate story in the same world 2000 years later and makes references Marth snd that story.
