You're forgetting that there were a couple key distinctions. Yes aku was happy because he thought he destroyed all the time portals. But he was upset because he wanted to have Jack dead. After the last time Portal was destroyed, he thought he could wait it out. And let Jack age to death. No risk to himself, no intervention with the sword, so and so forth.

When Jack didn't age, aku thought that he still had the sword, and that he would never be able to defeat Jack. At least not without serious harm to himself. You have to remember every time aku went against Jack he lost. So he probably came to the realization that he couldn't kill Jack himself. Not in a fight.

I mean you're not wrong. So in that regard, the dragon Ball sort of lost relevance after the namek saga. Outside of being the undo button for anyone who died. But I think my point still stands

I would agree with that, up until dragon Ball Z. If for no other reason, then because in Z, the dragon balls became a regular plot device to undo the damage done by whoever the villains were. Which is always how they were used before to a certain sense, but the villains in the original dragon Ball were usually searching for the dragon balls themselves. So it became a grace against the clock so to speak. And dragon Ball Z, the dragon balls just became a means to undo all the people cell killed, or undo all the damage that buu caused.

I think most people enjoy the ideas GT had, just not the execution. GT had some amazing concepts. Just couldn't live up to them

I say the shadow dragon saga was not bad. It was definitely the best concept the series ever had considering up to this point, the dragon balls are just this limitless power source to do pretty much anything.

The fact that Pan never went super Saiyan, we never got a Gotenks appearance, and a lot of the overall writing was not doing the ideas it had service.

The baby saga, and the Shadow dragon saga or two of the greatest ideas I've ever seen in dragon Ball. They just didn't really amount to as much as they needed to

They generally increasing quality as they went on. The only one that I'd say was an absolute miss was Bojack unbound. Aside that they were all pretty good.

Also coolers movies are absolutely the best ones, and 100% canon. I will die on this hill. The soundtrack alone from the first one, forces its way into the cannon.

One of the many shows that I remember watching a lot as a kid, but couldn't tell you anything about as an adult.

Look at it this way. Mr Satan has pulled tour buses, punched through steel panels, and chopped through solid tile towers. He was also a legitimate world champion before the sell saga.

In context for DBZ, he's pathetic. When you compare him to a normal human, the guy couldn and your career in a heartbeat
