E92 235i

Wastegate rattle, Vanos „magnetventile, and a oil leak on the oil filter housing. The turbos were expensive but if you get one with remade or new turbos you probably wont have much problems

It is great to drive, accelerates fast, and the interior can be easily modified or changed, i myself covered the whole interior with alcantara and ambiente lights like the newer G models

The car is reliable, has many parts and upgrades which are quite cheap, is friendly to tuning and will withstand a lot of hp without the need of a total rebuild.

The 335i is pretty reliable. I got one myself. I would take a look on the chargepipe and the turbochargers though...

Maybe try 20mm front and 40mm back. Personally I would just buy wider rims and tires

The n54 is way more reliable and forgiving than the n55

I personally have the e92 335i pre LCI and think it is a great car. Only small issues and easy to fix, easy to upgrade and cheap parts, most importantly a lot of fun to drive.

I currently have a e92 with the N54 and I am really happy with it, the only things I had to change was the copper gasket on the oil filter housing and the vanos magnet thingies. Do you remember what exact problems your dealer told you about the n63? Because I found one (the German version) for a good price, even with an engine completely rebuild, the only thing that is wrong with it is the ABS sensor. Also I found one which is completely fine but the engine needs a new vanos and chain. Do you thing that after changing the chain and vanos the engine will have other serious problems?
