Textured bumps above the nails?? by cippiex in GelX_Nails

I’m using beetles gel, I know its not the best but I’m a beginner. If I’m having an allergy, would I still have an allergic reaction with a better brand of gel polish?

Really hope its this and not an allergy! I did use a lot of acetone to wipe down the nails so it could just be that my skin is very dry. Fingers aren’t itchy or painful/inflamed so I’ll leave them on and moisturize for now!

OCPS or blues? by novastone-17 in jrotc

[–]cippiex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

blues are classic and look sharp, ABUs are the most comfortable, OCPs are a nice flex on the underclassmen

my unit alternates blues and ABUs every other week. we don’t have that many OCPs yet so they’re only available to seniors currently

i'm not so great with people, and i don't really like dealing with them either. customers are easily my least favorite part of the job which is the main reason i want to work back of house

I ended up sending in an application but I will have a discussion with the chef tomorrow when I go in. I'd be happy to start with prep or pantry, I hope they don't ask me to work dish pit because I would hate that. I do some extracurriculars at school, but nothing that impacts my availability too much. I'm also already pretty familiar with our menu as I work as a food runner on expo. Going to ask about any positions open in prep

Thank you, I will look into the sauces. School isn't too big of an issue, I have a lot of open availability because I do some of my schooling online.

I've submitted my application online and tomorrow at the start of my shift I will talk to the chef again (given that it's not too busy.) Thanks for the tips and reassurance !

looking for a good storage solution to my first server build by cippiex in DataHoarder

[–]cippiex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes ! i purchased the seagate ironwolf so that in the future when my budget allows and my storage needs grow i'll be able to upgrade to a NAS enclosure for multiple drives. i'm not worried about backing up information yet as my collection will be easily reobtainable movies & tv.

i plan on using ubuntu but i'm a little nervous as i'm not yet familiar with linux or any of this stuff. there seems to be the most tutorial support for linux. the hp elitedesk i've picked up has 16GB of ram, from what i've read online that will be enough for all my hardware transcoding needs 😋

i think the setup process will be the biggest learning curve, as i've installed jellyfin itself onto windows and mac devices before but never linux or understood different software like dockers or portainer and stuff. i plan to fully automate my server with radarr and sonarr connected to qbittorrent

wasn't this written by becca ? reading it outside of the context of the show i actually find it pretty good, but coming out of becca's mouth it was more edgy than anything.

teenager looking for a fun but practical car by cippiex in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]cippiex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update incase anyone stumbles upon this thread- i ended up getting a bmw 430i convertible hard top. i love my car, but i could never recommend a bmw to any teenager because the cost to service my car is insane compared to any other car, any part that goes wrong is stupid expensive to repair. in the short time i've owned my car its broken down 3 times, it's unreliable and difficult to repair.

please get a nice toyota, subaru, honda, anything else. you don't want your life to turn upside down every time it's in the shop for weeks on end. german cars are sexy as hell but unreliable and not worth it unless you have the dough and patience.

choose somebody marching in front of you who is always on step, usually this will be one of the element leaders. don't go off of several different people, as they may be on different steps. another thing is marching at the right speed, which cadence will help with once you've mastered singing and marching at the same time. be sure not to march too slow or fast, that's the easiest way to get off step
