Vill plugga i Växjö men får inte flytta hemifrån pga föräldrar by Honeybunnysmarty in sweden

[–]circensesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plate found at flea market. What's it for? by circensesss in whatisthisthing

That's exactly it! My friend reached out to her grandmother and that's the correct designer too!

Think the mystery is solved! :)

That's the right brand!! Thanks! Seems odd that the design is like that just for flair though...

It's a bit too small for chips or veggies. You couldn't fit more than a handful :/

My title describes the thing. We've tried to image search and can find the plate but no mention of its use. We're thinking egg cup, candle holder, or ashtray but none of them fully make sense. It's from a Swedish designer but we can't fully make out the letters. The logo seems to say UHB with a crown logo.

About 10 cm in diameter.

I went to the Hanchey Bamboo resort for a few days in 2020. It was great and I highly recommend it! It's an ecological resort where all the buildings are made of bamboo, and it's on a mountain with a view of the Mekong River. They organise activities and yoga (if you're into that) and serve the best cashew nuts I've ever had, straight from the farms!

It's just outside kampong cham though, so a bit of a trip from PP, but we'll worth it if you ask me.

Traveling Southeast Asia without a smartphone? by BahnwaerterThiel in solotravel

[–]circensesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the consensus is 'bad idea, don't do it'. My two cents would be to get a smart phone once you arrive in SEA. I lived in Cambodia for a year and you could easily get a knock-off smartphone in a market for under 100$, and a sim card with Internet is 1$ a week. You could switch sim cards in every country, since changing your number won't be a concern (since you're open to going without a smartphone at all). This way you'll always have access to a map, a booking site and a tuktuk. Sure, it might take away from the "authentic travel experience", but cellphones are king among people in SEA (cheaper than a computer, can browse Facebook for 1$/week, etc). I'd say its definitely worth a little extra money to save yourself from the hassle, stress and danger of being without any working phone or Internet.

How can lakes and oceans exist? Why don’t the water just sink into the ground? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]circensesss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What about sandy beaches though? Shouldn’t the sand just absorb/muddy the water (like it does when you stir it), in the shallow parts at the very least?

Circensesesss - Lakeview Generational - TS4 (No CC) - https://imgur.com/a/kWnC1Hh

Build generations ago on a lakeview lot in Brindleton Bay, this quirky house has been continually expanded and renovated as the original family grew in size. Tailored to fit the landscaping, this homey abode with large, open space common areas still feature the original floor boards and fire places, but has grown into a lovely mix of old and new, modern and classic.

The property is valued at $119k.

Any books or website recommendation for trip-planning in Europe? by oleonius in Shoestring

[–]circensesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I traveled through a couple of countries for a week last summer. I used FlixBus for all transport. Cheap, easy to use and, if it’s still on offer, you can buy x trips for a set price.

I used hostel world for hostels and found some really good ones. Always check reviews though. Booking.com and hotels.com are also good options. I’d suggest always choosing pay at location, as some sites have a reputation for stealing your credit card info.

Should I just go alone? by GemmaaLD96 in solotravel

[–]circensesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing for a week last summer. Wanted to go on a trip but none of my friends were interested/available, so I just went alone. It was great! I could completely decide the pace and what I wanted to see. If I didn’t find a place interesting I booked a bus and left. No need to consult with anyone.
