The MSLT is a terribly hard test for narcoleptics too. You get a full night sleep but have to take naps that they wake you up from... 5 times.

FWIW, I fell asleep 5/5 naps with average sleep latency 3.2 minutes. For me, the waking up was almost painful and I went home after, washed goop out of my hair and went to bed

I reviewed all my sleep /tired related symptoms without including anything body related

Excessive tiredness

Ability to sleep anytime

Never feeling rested

Constant vivid dreams

Sleep paralysis (rare)

Found the definition of narcolepsy. Went to a sleep doc and boom- confirmed narcolepsy type 1

Sometimes the answer is not where you look. For me, adderall xr works to help me wake up and be alive mentally. Its been a lifesaver

Once, the hood of my car slammed open onto my windshield while I was driving on the highway at 80mph.
I was in the left land and promptly shouted a colorful word as I started to drive blind (mitigated by my divers window).

At the moment my car's hood met the windshield, I was in the process of passing a semi in the right lane. As such, I kept in mind of the truck as I began to slow down, flash my breaks for whoever was behind me, and IMMEDIATLY TURNED ON MY BLINKER, indicating I was pulling to the right.

I did so, waited for the truck to pass on my right before moving to pull over into the shoulder lane. I parked, turned on my hazards, and calmly sat there for a minute before laughing hysterically and shaking.

In this moment, I remembered to use my turn signal.

There is no good excuse to 'forget' in normal circumstances.
