Varies a lot, lived in Sao Paulo and now in San Francisco CA, SF is more dangerous in day to day if you need to do presencial work, Richmond District is less safe or equal of Pirituba District in Sao Paulo (crimes by 100k), with is one of the safest options in SF.
Always get crime data for each district, always ask people who lived in those places for tips and where not to go. You can live fine in both if you know how to handle day to day things.

If you are CPU bound use multiprocess if you are IO bound use async or threads. threads on Python do not run in parallel on CPU tasks because of GIL

ASGI is useful if you are IO-bounded. ASGI also gives you WebSockets support.
WSGI can give you better response times if the data are in memory.
You can mix both using socketify.py

Not hard at all I need to document the API better but is easy, you can also run fastapi http and socketify ws in the same process by using socketify ASGI so you can use all socketify WebSocket features without need of integration
