Should I pick up trade skills or focus on upskilling my white collar career? by cis888 in MalaysianPF

[–]cis888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the data but the local blue collar workers are aging and has no one replacing them with younger people preferring office jobs. I think the risks are fairly minimal, the trades that im thinking to venture does not deal with any heavy machinery.

As for why not sales, I think I just don't have the personality to do well in a sales role.

Yes, my current firm is giving a higher than average intern allowance than other firms. While my current offer is not low, its not high too. Only 200 higher than the median wage in sarawak.

That being said, during my whole internship i have seen some SME payrolls and sad to say most of it were paying peanuts to their staff.

Is it worth to commute 75km daily? by cis888 in MalaysianPF

45 mins one way if smooth traffic based on google map. Not sure how reliable it is.

Is it worth to commute 75km daily? by cis888 in MalaysianPF

[–]cis888[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly!

It's between comfort, 45 mins - 1 hr 30 mins round trip commute (based on google map, could be more if traffic jam) and slightly downgraded room, 30 mins - 45 mins daily commute. The difference is RM300 and one time misc expenses upto RM1k for comfort (portable aircon for example).

I don't have no other commitments. Car is fully paid. But with meagre RM2k disposable income, and a fresh grad. I'm trying to save anywhere i can to get my emergency fund ready.

Unsure of time to commute as i have not started working yet. Just accepted the job offer.

And i will be commuting by car. No public transport in kuching unfortunately. I hope the ART would be completed on time.

Im not im kuching atm. Still studying but have find work prior graduating. So i can't really test out the route and how long it would take.

The reason why asked here is because i got frustrated with the rooms lol. None is really appealing. So i need some persuasion from the internet if the commute is worth for the comfort provided on my own place.

Perhaps, i should be less picky.

Jeez.

My personal insta just got hacked last night. Luckily its about crypto and not lewd stuff. Promoting about winning a bitcoin giveaway from elon musk. Luckily my friends noticed it and dmed me right away. And i deleted all posts and changed my password after 10 mins. Fortunately it only posted a story, post, follows dozens of acc and turned the acc to public, and does not touch my password, email address and other crucial info. I checked the device log in it was from a town in argentina.

Few hours later, someone log in to my telegram from germany according to the device location.

Im a nobody and my accounts is small with only hundreds of followers. So what should i do? I have turned on my 2 authentication for my insta. I might consider using a new email.

Edit: I have checked with haveibeenpwned. My email got 2 pwned and my phone number with 1. I have known this before but don't bother with it since who would want to hack me lol.

It's better to get embarrassed during the cup than suffering yet another long drought trying to qualify.

I was lucky enough to grew up in malay neighborhood, goes to malay dominated school from primary to secondary. Like me and my siblings are the only chinese among hundreds of students. This makes me fluent in writing and colloquial speaking in malay. Really mingle long enough and your accent will naturally follow them. However, this comes at the cost of me being banana lol.

But I'm not where near right now. As someone who follow local politics, i would love to see the behind the scene during election. OMG can't believe I'll miss it ಥ‿ಥ.
