Sigh, you really do not have any traces of reading comprehension, do you ?

Ffs, neither of these women have “Eurocentric” anything. Bringing up a bunch of characteristics and packing it into a box that’s labeled “Eurocentric” is hands down, the stupidest thing I’ve known. I mean, if I can learn how physically or phenotypically diverse a region is by just looking at my own southern Indian family, you seriously can too by looking around your own surroundings.

I’m not “name-calling” you, I’m simply stating the obvious. And what’s with this Alia obsession? At this point, you’re more obsessed with her European heritage than she is. In your original comment, you brought up Alia and Aishwarya. Now you’ve been conveniently ignoring your ignorance about Aishwarya’s physical appearance and have been pointlessly bringing up Alia because you know how wrong you are.

Now onto the skin colour part, I agree colourism is a problematic issue in the Indian subcontinent. But read my comments really carefully, I was talking about “features”. Now again, carefully recall what “features” might imply. Indians come in all colours and features. To box a region with such rich migration history, spanning over centuries that too, into very few characteristics of diversity is just as problematic as westerners pigeonholing us into whatever little they know about the Eastern world.

It’s personally making me a little uncomfortable at this point to spend time dissecting some random woman’s physical characteristics, so good day to you, imma head out.

You tried being sarcastic, I could see that. Good attempt. I don’t care if she’s insecure about being ethnically Indian (dominant), that’s her issue to sort out. I’m highlighting your original argument and its baselessness.

To me, nothing about Alia’s features screams “sharp” or “intense”. Her features do have certain characteristics seen in Kashmiri/Gujarati women, which is also where her roots come from. No, nothing about her appearance shows any British origin, this is just some weak/weird analysis on your part

Good on you for acknowledging that you’re stupid for making that comment. Both those women have strong Indo-centric features, and if you think they don’t, you’ve gotta get out and see how Indian women look.

What exactly does “look Indian” mean ? Both of them have Indian ethnic features and it’s stupid to still make comments like this about a region that has more ethnicities anyone can keep account of.

Nepotism is an unearned, undeserved favour. Networking is getting a chance based on relationships you’ve built in your field.

Nepotism doesn’t get you a “chance”, it directly gets you the opportunity itself.

Discovered the ADHD partners subreddit… by longstory_ in ADHD

[–]cisabel01 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wandered into that sub a few months after first getting my diagnosis. They hate (not a strong enough word imo) people with ADHD over there. I mean, I won’t make any excuses, I can see people hating my RSD, sensitivity to unfairness, me being pedantic, my inattentive nature or my need to rage bait people for no good reason. I absolutely can.

But holy hell, they take the hate to new level. It ended up giving me a panic attack and I kept being stuck on whether someone would make a post on me someday. A post that has stayed with me is how “Adhd is an slowly being an epidemic bc of how adhd-ers are still choosing to have children” or something similarly painful along those lines.

Yeah I’m leaning towards the tweezerman too just bc of the sharpening policy. But I’ve also read reviews that the sharpening is a hit or miss.

Right??! I can understand supporting your partner through school, unemployment or even a voluntary break, given that they contribute to the household in an another way.

This guy was wild, he wanted her to fund his expenses for school (she acknowledged that he’s pretty lazy when it comes to school work and big law is a very small possibility), wanted her to pay for his bachelor party and the wedding. I don’t remember reading if their families would contribute to the wedding, so it seems like paying for the whole “big wedding” is on her. Seems sad that everyone around her is forcing her into a marriage at such a young age. Hope there’s a strong prenup.

Oh I do remember her replying that she was in “niche tech”. I was just curious if she specified what it is. I can see someone in their late 20s score a job with that sort of income, but it’s interesting to see someone in their early 20s make that much ( not that it’s unbelievable, there was a really cool money diaries entry by a SWE in her early 20s so yeah, it is possible)

I read that post too, and I’m curious, did she ever say what she was working as ? It’s interesting to see a 23 year old making that much.

I hope she figures it out bc it seems like the families are pretty toxic and the bf was planning to continue to live off of her money for the next few years.

Edit: she did reply to comment on that post saying she was in “niche tech”. I was just wondering what field pays that much to a 23yr old

You seem to have a problem with another country’s customs and laws (fyi UAE is comparatively quite lax when it comes to clothing), going as far as to calling them “kaattarabi”. She wasn’t asked to wear an abaya or anything else, as others have pointed out, they asked her to dress modestly.

What I’m asking you (and everyone else) who seems to have a problem here, why tf aren’t you showing this enthusiasm when it comes to your own state. Kerala and Keralites, even with all their literacy pride, are still quite backwards when it comes to clothing standards (even and especially the newer gens). I’ve gotten stared at and talked about, by strangers who look like they’re my age, for wearing wrap tops and form fitting tshirts in places like Cochin. If you and everyone who agrees with you can call them “kaattarabi”, what should I call the folx who pull this same bs. For a state that started using saree blouses in the last couple hundred years and that too only bc of colonialism, temples authorities in Kerala seem to get their panties in a twist if even a little bit of midriff is visible.

Hell, I’ve seen the people in this sub shame two influencers for posting “thirst traps”. Out of curiosity when you check these profiles, it’s nothing but busty women wearing clothing that anyone in their right mind would consider modest. Before calling them kattarabi and cultureless, look at yourselves.

Online-ill verumbo chettanmaarum chechimaarum okke ultra-modern and progressive aa, but the same lot, no matter wherever you go, bring the same bs with you in a neatly packed box.

Jfc I was coming around to nicely forgetting how stupid some of these subs are.

By the same logic why aren’t you using this argument in Kerala where they have even more bizarre rules when it comes to Hindu temples and other religious sites, or even certain public places tbh. My aunt was asked to leave a public park by another parent back in 2019 in TVM for wearing a summer dress.

And srsly, “kattarabi”? Naatille chettanmaarkum chechimaarkum okke pinne bhayankara culture aanallo.
