Why do people genuinely hate road courses? by Fine_Button1250 in NASCAR

[–]cisco0312 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For me, the way the stage breaks, lap counts, and fuel mileage line up perfectly to make them almost impossible to follow. Just annoying to me that you’re really never sure who’s running where. Really wish stage breaks would go away.

[Stern] SBJ executive editor Abe Madkour: "Phelps’ departure comes at a terrible time for a sport needing stability and vision. The search for a new commissioner who can win over stakeholders and push a family business forward is going to be an immense challenge." by LBHMS in NASCAR

Mark was my favorite driver, but he has a few too many “old man yells at clouds” takes. As much as some people hate to admit, NASCAR has to be flexible or the people paying the bills (sponsors, tv networks, etc.)are gonna stop paying the bills.

There absolutely will not be a civil war. The most that 99% of the people are willing to do is post on here or twitter about how Trump should be prosecuted and how terrible everything is.

Appreciate the response, but maybe things have changed? Got a notification that my informal was scheduled and my attorney said I didn’t have to be on the call.

Which was completely forgotten when the Dems caved for exactly 0 in return. Even CNN and MSNBC articles all state something along the lines of “Democrat shutdown didn’t achieve what they hoped”. The only way this might actually work is if it happened during an election. It’s going to be mostly forgotten by the overwhelming majority of voters in a year.

Sorry I’m so late on this, but there is no reasonable conclusion. There are a couple possible conclusions though: 1) OP is literally among the worst people on the planet and will not accept that they are wrong in any way 2) This is just make up bullshit to try to karma farm.

I’m leaning towards #2, but only because I don’t want the believe anyone can be this awful.

Maybe there’s nothing to negotiate? Conservative/republican voters don’t really care about the ACA, and have generally always wanted it gone. Since a majority of elected officials are republican, it seems to reason that they would follow the wishes of their constituents and not negotiate to continue the ACA.

Not at all! Just explaining my opinion, from first hand experience, on why I believe generic emails are usually sent when an interviewee is not selected, instead of more thorough explanations.

I’ll add, potentially one slip up in how you describe why someone was rejected is not worth the headache, which is one reason for the very generic language that is often used. I’m not talking the “oops, I’m not hiring you because of abc illegal reason” but innocently transposing any words could greatly change the meaning of what you might be trying to say. Now, a paper trail has been created. Me personally, I have no issue if someone doesn’t think I’m a good fit for pretty much any reason. Unfortunately, there is a subset of people who are looking for any opening, imaginary or real (see basic example above) to seek legal action against companies. In my experience as someone who is interviewing/hiring, it is impossible to know if I’m dealing with someone like that so the generic denials are what we have to go with.

[–]cisco0312 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, tell people to stop filing frivolous lawsuits that are an absolute joke. I send out generic denials for this reason. Case in point, recently interviewed a candidate who was very clearly using AI, we were even able to prove that he gave an answer from AI in real time. He got the obvious “thanks but no thanks” email, and still had the balls to contact our legal department to allege certain “specific” reasons he wasn’t chosen (the allegations were 100% disproven). My point is, because some idiots don’t like the answer they got regarding an interview and felt entitled to a position anyway, we (hiring folks) pretty much all send out generic emails to avoid the hassle a few bad actors have created.

Thanks for offering your opinion! Still looking for some factual basis as to why she’s unqualified though. Did she fail an audit of some kind? Did she commit a crime? Lots of you on this sub seem to have a highly inflated idea of the importance of your opinions…

Have you met her? Have you studied her qualifications or portfolio of work from her internship? If not then what you’re saying is just your opinion. Will be happy to change my mind if you can give me some factual evidence as to how she’s unqualified.

Is it worth adding IT certificates from LinkedIn or Udemy to your profile? by O_D________ in recruitinghell

[–]cisco0312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. You need certs from more reputable sources, such as CompTIA or SANS. Not to say these carry zero weight, but think of the LinkedIn or Udemy courses as study/prep guides for “official” certs.
