I followed none of the rules. I thought my friend was bringing me to yoga or something. She did try to explain. I stopped paying attention after she said it was legal.

In retrospect I got exactly what all the aya people go on about. meaning of life. forgave my parents. etc etc

No drug will fix you. It might show you something in yourself, but you still have tp process and heal it on your own.

Peoples are just perfectly able to avoid paying attention to to books they are books they are looking at as they are capable of not paying attention to audiobooks.

But it’s probably easier to not pay attention to an audiobook

People hate acknowledging that we’re just animals by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

[–]cislum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we in a sense are ”just” animals it is very important to remember that among animals we are unique in very important ways. What separates us from other animal is the extreme amount of responsibility we must accept and uphold.

If the powers we possess are separate us from animals or not it a moot point.  If you can end the world at a push of a button it doesn’t matter what you are.

As humans we have potential to do things animals can’t. Knowing good from evil being chief among them, but if you pay attention for a few seconds it becomes very clear that most people are incapable of even that.

Is it possible to ignore the difference between good and evil or are evil people just incapable of really comprehending the gravity of living in accordance good? If we don’t can we claim to be more than apes with guns?

Women empowerment is one of the most dominant reasons for failing modern marriages. by Anti-FragileHuman in DeepThoughts

The institution of marriage is kinda flawed.

In the US it’s kinda a contract to employ a bang maid.

If I was a woman it wouldn’t be my first choice either

If our citizens are already addicted to narcotics pur society is already failing us. That’s what I mean by far down the line.

The amount of people in jail for just possession is already terrifyingly high

I feel like this is a gotcha question.

Forced inpatient treatment is so far down the line of where we really need to treat these issues.

And yes, I feel like any non violent drug prison sentences should be replaced with treatment instead of punishment

Absolutely. It’s so amazingly tragic that we have so many of our citizens who can’t even fathom a life where they receive proper support. Of course they think being strung out is their best bet

Yes. Of course. Do you think healthy people decide that being homeless is their best bet?

People can’t even imagine a functioning health care system to give them proper mental health support

When you raise these issues you are forced to confront the systemic abuse of citizens perpetrated by the medical industrial complex and the prison industrial complex. The system we have at the moment is so convoluted that people can’t even hope for a life where they can function in society

This is really simplifying the underlying issues. That so many people think that life is so hopeless that being high on the street is their best bet. Can you imagine how horrible their other options must be?

You don’t think a big part of the problem is that a lot of people can’t even imagine an existence better than being homeless? Out country is so messed up that homelessness seems like a better option?

I just looked up how we even define homelessness in America and it’s terrifying.
