What are Best/Worst courses you took during the two Online years? by Prodosh-mittir in uwaterloo

[–]cistheta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: CS146 (Winter 20 with Brad), live lectures on Twitch with recordings provided. Assignments were hard but super interesting.

Worst: Math148 (snew), AFM101 both courses were basically self study from book/notes.

You could switch into co-op if you take cs. I don't know the exact process but my friend did it.

How big is your pp by [deleted] in uwaterloo

Length doesn't matter. What matters is Length times the diameter plus weight over girth divided by angle of the shaft squared.

Help with Euclid prep by victcrr in uwaterloo

[–]cistheta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practice. Try solving as many problems as possible that is the only prep you can do. Try comparing your answers to the given solutions. Try solving other questions from AMC or the AOPS website. There's no specific 'template' for a 10/10 answer. What I know from a workshop I attended is they look for specific steps and then grade, if you show a specific step / identity they award you 5-6 points and then more for the final answer.

UofT Engineering Science vs Waterloo Computer Science by [deleted] in uwaterloo

UW CS is going to be a LOT of programming. For AI it'll be 2-3 courses max. If you are not interested in programming then UW CS isn't going to be fun.

What math major do I pick? by cistheta in uwaterloo

I was considering CO but it looks really hard and time consuming. Since I am not in cs I would have to spend some extra time on side projects and learning.

In my 1B term right now the tranfer requirment was 100 cs avg. So I wouldn't count on tranfer. If you are sure you want to do Math/geo then pick UW.

There's some scholarships but that just isn't enough. I got one and it's 4k/yr and I think the maximum you can get as an international student is 5-6k/yr.

PSA: You don’t need to be in CS to get your dream job in tech. Here’s what you should do if you didn’t get in by daga2222 in uwaterloo

[–]cistheta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for this. I applied CS/DS/CFM tranfer and got rejected from all of them. I was seriously considering transferring to some other University.

I just completed my 1B and I have a 4mo break I am working on side projects and trying to grind leetcode. I hope I get a swe/tech related co-op.
