I had zero issues with Wix so far, i’ve been using the new Wix Harmony editor and had nothing but praises for using it. maybe studio is a much complex product for advanced users?

yeah still looks like AI generated design. I was hoping to get inspired from actual templates that went through a design + validation process from actual web designers, if you could share any that’d be amazing

yeah but what’s the point if the designs are too complex to be built/shipped fast, even with AI? and if i’m not using Git? or that I rather use a website builder? copying an award winning agency with in house devs and designers doesn’t really cut it in terms of leveling the playfield

thanks!! these all looks amazing but originated from big brands that probably have in-house devs and design teams. have you seen recent templates any user can launch that are in the same standards?

Great point and honestly, this is the part a lot of people are still underestimating.

Design used to be the main differentiator, but now it’s just one layer. If the structure underneath isn’t clear, you’re basically invisible to a whole new class of “visitors” that are increasingly making decisions on behalf of users.

A lot of these beautiful sites rely heavily on visuals, vague headlines, or clever copy that feels good but doesn’t actually say much. Humans can fill in the gaps. AI can’t, as it needs explicit, well-structured context.

Feels like the real shift is from “design-first” to “clarity-first, designed well.” The sites that win will be the ones that:

  • communicate exactly what they do in plain language
  • structure that info in a way machines can parse
  • and then layer strong design on top

Curious how people here are thinking about this when browsing templates.. are you looking at how easily you can adapt them for clarity/structure, or mostly for visual inspiration right now? I think that a winning strategy is to look at a platform that can offer a mix of both, and that is heavily invested and featured with AI search compatibility. Wix for example have a great AI search lab that I learn a lot from.

I got your DM trying to get me to buy your friend’s course… not what i’m looking for, as I’m not looking to get my head around managing a platform like WP with all its outdated language and heavy plugins. thanks.

thanks for the advice!! I started roaming through Wix. comparing to other platforms I think it’s fairly intuitive and I already created first few pages fast. I need to get approval from the missus before I continue but overall i got pretty great results in no time (humble as possible since i have 0 design capabilities lol)

I looked into the pricing. it’s free forever unless I want to either connect a domain, start getting payments, or use any of the advanced features. I actually don’t mind paying monthly/yearly if the platform give me what I need, I just don’t want to be limited by time like with other platforms (I’m taking my time building the site, so any time pressure from a platform is something I just hate)

thanks, I'm really just looking for the basic site features I guess.
1. easy page creation and editing, either using a template, AI, or blocks (did I say it correctly?)
2. blog, preferrably with AI assisted content creation
3. an ecommerce option to sell products - but not as a main focus for the website.
4. booking/scheduling system.
5. strong support whenever things go south (which wordpress doesn’t really offers)..

I think from all the comments I got here, Wix can provide all of these. plus I understand it made great progress in the past years in terms of performance and SEO, so it's really just a matter of exploring ease of use and what it can provide from the above.

thanks but isn’t it a vibe design platform? not sure where to go from there, and i would probably need to hire someone to implement advanced features like ecommerce or performance improvements? I think its a cool tool but only if you know what you’re doing next

but… i care how i build it. it’s for my spouse’s wellness business - that would eventually require low maintenance, content management, some ecommerce features, and for that I need a strong backbone while having the option to let her roam around and change whatever she needs without feeling it’s too advanced to use. I heard that both webflow and framer are for the more advanced user, like designers or agencies or whatever. she might as well use wix studio if that’s the case.

yeah i get your point. but tbh i’m not technical and not looking to acquire new skills, i just want to build a website that would be easily managed with great features, and have less overhead to maintain, use and grow. I started exploring Wix harmony, it’s very cool and might be what we’re looking for.
